Imagination can be Sketchy

Hey there guys! Bombshell Sketch time. Like I mentioned earlier in the week - Bombshell is moving their challenges up in the month a bit to give everyone a bit more time to work on them. So now the challenges are open almost for the full month.  Today is the Sketch Challenge - and Kathi always delivers great sketches!

I took this sketch and pretty much did NOTHING with it. HAHAHA... I didn't flip it or flop it. I just used it. So here is my take on it!
The paper is DCWV Tradewinds Mat Stack. And I used three different DPs in here. I added on the heart from All My Heart set. I used the E07, 08, 09, 18 colors to color the heart itself and the gold is Y11, 23, 26. Once done I added in the glitter using a quick glue pen and then adding very light champagne glitter. The sentiment is a metal tag from I think Tim Holtz.

Now - If you haven't already, please check out the BOmbshell Blog today, and see the challenge and while you are at it - go ahead and try it out!!!! You could be entered into a chance to win a gift certificate to the store if you enter with a Bombshell stamp on your card!

Ok... Now I am off to the Carolina Indoor Performance Association Winter Guard contest (I have been told NOT to use the term flag twirler - apparently that is verboten).  Have a great weekend Y'all!!!

I'm Here to A-MUSE you with the All My Heart Set

Ok... the title is about as amusing as it gets...Yup - That's all I have. SIGH

The set for this months Muse Monday feature over at Bombshell Stamps is the "All My Heart" set. This set has several different hearts that you can use in so many ways. This is one of the sets I LOVE to use the coloring with pencils on black technique. For some reason the details of the hearts just scream out to me to use white ink and embossing powder for their details.

I made a set of three ATC's this week. I used black paper. If you look really closely you can see the texture. To make it look as smooth as possible with a little bit of texture I use the back side of textured cardstock. Now you can by really smooth black paper, but the slight texture just adds to it. For most places that there is color on here I colored with white pencil first, then went over it with the color I wanted. You can see the center of the hearts on the biggest and smallest are not as dark... that is where I went directly with the pinkish red color. You can see a definite difference in how the color takes.  Once done, I cut out the matching paper just slightly smaller than the black ATC chalkboards I had... Then I popped up the cut out hearts in the middle of each one. They needed a little something so I went back with enamel accents and added some corner stuff.

Now, several other Bombshells have some inspiration for you as well... So go check them out. While you are there - check out some of our challenges like our Sketch Challenge for a chance to win some rubber. Also - - be sure to read up on the Guest Design Team Call. Yes - that is right - we are having a Guest Design Team call for our Monthly Pin Up girls. If you LOVE tattoo inspired stamps and want to have some fun with a wild and wacky bunch of gals with a slightly quirky sense of humor - send in an application! Go for it! Nothing to lose - a lot of fun to gain.

Simple Paper Rosettes - Shot through the Heart

Kathi the DT Captain with the Plan - challenged the Bombshells to pick a tutorial and Make it their own. Well I was stumped - there are so many to choose from. I did actually think that maybe - just maybe I shouldn't choose a tutorial that I actually created. :-)

I chose one by Kelli (and Meredith did one too earlier) to make some paper rosettes. Ok... so I will be honest - it is MUCH larger than I thought it would be. I was thinking embellishment on a card - not the size of a card. :-). I should think a bit more.

The hearts are from All My Heart - and I colored them all in Warm Greys - - just so you know - the colors of the two hearts are the SAME colors... it is wild to me how they look darker on one side than the other - and more brown. But they are THE SAME> Just shows you what the surrounding colors do to you!

OK... Now I encourage you to check out the Bombshell Blog and see what everyone else came up with.

November Sketch Challenge

It is November Sketch Challenge Time. And Kathi has designed a really interesting sketch for us to work with. It is balanced yet unbalanced.

1112.jpg

Well - this is what I have created with it - I turned it a bit... because I just thought it fit better with the image I used.
I used the All my Heart set for this card. I colored it up with Purples (V04. 06. 09. 17) and Yellows (Y00, 11), Rusty colors (E04, 07, 08, 09) and YR02 and 07.

Once I was done, I placed it on black because it showed up so well. Then I picked colored paper that matched what I colored the image in. Those I edged with Black copic to give the strips a little more definition. Then the background paper is a vellum paper I had.

So - Here are the rules - Use the Sketch, Use a Bombshell Stamp, Make a Project and then submit it with Mr. Linky over on the Bombehsll Stamps Blog post. And VOILA - you are entered into the drawing for a chance to win yourself some free Bombshell Stamps!  Easy Peasy!

I hope you have a great day, and come back again soon!
