Kraftin Kimmie - Purple Esmerelda

Hey there guys. this is my first time coloring up this image. I LOVE it. When I saw it over at KK I had to have it. I went for some unusual colors - trying for a vintage look with red hair.

I used RV91, 93, 95, 99 to color her gown. Her skin is a little darker than I usually go with YR00, E11, E13 (I usually start one lower and end one lower). Her hair is YR31, E07, E18, E29. The roses are R32, 35, 39, the water B60, 63, 66 and her leaves are YG61, 63, 67.  All the blacks are the Cx family.

Once I finished coloring her, I cut out the circle and while still in the Nestie I airbrushed her using the B60. For this, since it was so light, I did not use a mask on the image itself. I airbrushed the sentiment in its Nestie too.

Once I was done, I felt like it was missing something, so I doodled on the opposite corners. It added something, although I am not sure if I like it or not. SIGH.

That is my creation from yesterday. Planning on being crafty over the next few days too.

BTW - The Bombshell Stamps Hump Day Hop from last week was moved to this week... since we were all still recovering from the excesses of the season. So I hope that you join us this week for a fun time!

Talk to you later.

Christmas Card for Sassy Gift Exchange

So, we had a little gift exchange with the Sassy Studio Design team members. To go along with the exchange I made a card for the lovely Star! She is such a sweetie and always so helpful and positive!

I didn't want to post this until she got it, because I am a little obsessive about that! Don't blow surprises LOL.

I made an easel card (obviously!). Using the Snowman Pinup, I decided to go with different colors - not your typical Christmas colors. YG1x and 2x as well as BG0x and 1x colors.

Now I hope that Star enjoys her other very adorable Christmas Present she received! And cuddles with it constantly! :-)  Congratulations Star!

It's a Wonder-ful card!

So, here it is again Dare to Be Sassy Thursday.  The challenge this week is to make a Christmas Thank You Card. Well I have to tell you - My brother made me the COOLEST purse. He is into leatherworking, and made a bag that is out of really sturdy leather - two toned  and best of all it has been STEAMPUNKED! WHOOP!

So, this card had to be for him - and he LOVES comics. So Wonder Woman it was.

I used R22, 24, 27, 39 for the reds, Y11, 23, 26 for the golds, and B23, 26, 29 for the blues. Her hair is E27, 29, 49 and her skin is YR000, 00, E21.  Once she was colored I cut out another one and used that as a mask, and placed the Nestie where I wanted it. I airbrushed it with B21. I then used the out of the box technique to cut out her boot before I used the Oval Nestie to cut her out.

I thne used this candy cane paper and cut it on a diagnoal to make it look like it had some movement to it - like she was flying. The stars were added to anchor the design paper to the base. The inside of the card reads "for the Wonderful gift".

Now- Here is the purse. Isn't it cool?!!!!!

And one of the best parts - - Those gears on there actually spin... HEE HEE HEE HEE!!!!!!!!

So - lets see what Thank You cards you make for DTBST!!! Enter in, and you can get a chance to win some free digital stamps!!!

I'll Have a BLUE Christmas...

Yep - It is time again for Sassy Studio Designs Dare To Be Sassy Thursday. This week we are challenging you to make a Blue Christmas Card.  Now this was FUN because I LOVE blue and white and blue and silver cards!!!!

So... I used a blue and silver paper, and a blue cardstock.  With the Blue cardstock I dry embossed it and then clear embossed over it. I added stickles to it to give it some sparkle. I also used sliver heat embossing on the edges of the blue cardstock. For the silver oval, I dry embossed it and then wet embossed it with the silver Zing. This gave it a glittery mirrory look. The snowflakes got the same treatment.

I used the All Wrapped Up image, and colored her with the following colors. YR000, 00, E11. I added a little bit of R20 to her cheeks. Her hair is E31, 33, 34, 37, 39 with a bit of E49 in the deeper shadows. Her ribbon and shoes are B32, 35, 37 and 39.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:
Now, I hope that you join us all over at the Dare to be Sassy Thursday Blue Christmas Challenge. We'll be blue without you!

December Pin-Up Challenge - Getting Ornamental

Ms. December, the lovely Monika, has challenged us to create things with which to decorate your home and tree over the holidays. So get creative and join us in making an ornament with your Bombshell stamps to help celebrate the season with a bit of a sassy punch.

I couldn't dare make something not blingy now could I?

I used the Sacred Heart stamp set to create these glittery angel wings.

The wings images were stamped onto clear craft plastic with Staz-on. Now, if you have followed my blog for a while, you know my history with Staz-On is not that great. But honestly, I was happy with these... it only took me five times to get two good images.

Once they were dry, I flipped them over and added glue to the back and sprinkled extra microfine glitter on them. For the gold one, I used only the gold glitter and for the other one I added glue strategically in places and sprinkled the blue glitter on first, then added glue to the other areas and sprinkled that with white glitter.

Then I panicked. Why? because in the beginning they looked really crappy. But given a few hours to dry the glue disappeared and the pretty glittery sparkles showed through.

Now - I hope you all check out the Bombshell Blog today and even enter into the challenge. The more the merrier, and you could win yourself a little holiday prize.

Muse Monday - Pinstripes

Hey guys! It is time for Muse Monday over at Bombshell Stamps, and this month we have such an elegant set to show you. It may not seem so at first. Usually people think of these stamps and think hot rods and cars! But I saw these and thought Star! Here is my take on the gorgeous PinStripes Set.

I used three of the pinstripe images. I cut a circle out, and I used these three stamps to wrap the circle.  I stamped them with black versafine, and then clear embossed them. Then I printed the sentiment out in a black circle from my printer and cut it out. I trimmed the pink page up and then added the bling!

I absolutely lvoe how this turend out. And it is VERY sparkly in person. :-)

I hope you all are getting everything ready for the holidays (whatever ones you may celebrate)! See you back here again soon!

Another Day - Another Sketch!!!

It is Dare to be Sassy Thursday! And this week we have a lovely sketch to use.
From the moment I saw this - I immediately thought Steampunk...even with the flowers up there. So here is my interpretation of the sketch.

I used Steampunk Amelia. I have the gears Nestabilities and cut a circle out of this antiqued gold sparkly paper. I then cut out the black circles. I layered them together, and then cut it into fourths. This is layered on the silvery grey  sparkly paper.  I dug through my gears and steampunk gadgets, and came up with the attached embellies, and the sentiment.

Amelia is colored with E31, 33, 35, 37 for her boots and undergarment. Her sleeves and stockings are E70, 71, 74, 77. Her skin is YR000, 00, E11 and her hair is YR21, R02, 05,08, E07. Her corset and part of her goggles is Y11, 21, 23, 26, 28 with E07 in areas to give it some shimmer.

I hope you will join in over at Sassy Studio Designs. You don't even need to use an SSD image to enter. And if you win - you get TWO yes TWO Sassy Studio Design Images of your choice. WOO HOO!

I hope you come back soon!

I'll Fly Away! On a Sketch

Really quick post today to share with you my latest Bombshell Creation. It is Sketch time over on the Bombshell Blog today and I have a Sketch for you. Kathi put it together beautifully as always.

Here is my take on it -

I used the Butterfly Dreams set. The butterflies were stamped using white ink and then embossed with white EP. I then colored several areas with white Prismacolor pencils, and then I went over it with a pink pencil. That gets the bright pop of color on the black background.

Jump over to the Bombshell stamps blog and check out what the other Bombshells have prepared for you today! And then why don't you enter to try your hand at this months sketch. You could win some lovely rubbery goodies!

Hump Day Hop!!!!

Howdy All!!!! Today Alison has challenged us to a Recipe challenge in honor of all the eating we did at Thanksgiving here in the states. Only her recipe isn't for us to cook something, but just to cook a project up using her list of ingredients:

3 Patterned Papers
2 Bombshell Stamps images
1 Piece of Ribbon

This was fun - but the patterned papers was a HUGE challenge.

I used LOTS of colors - too many to list. But mainly of the 0X lines. This is Tiki Party! I just got this in a few weeks ago and this is my first try on coloring it up. So fun... And made me want a pina colada pretty badly!!!!

OK, Here is the hop list. If you did not arrive from Susies blog, why don't you start at the beginning! It is always fun, and we all have really different styles usually (Although a couple of us tend to be on the same wavelength frequently - lets see how close we are this time - Waves at Kathi).

Ribbon and Lace Christmas

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Glitter and Sparkle Challenge to use Ribbon and Lace.  Being that it is Christmas-time, I decided to use this lovely Rennaissance Sassy to make an old fashioned Christmas Card.

This actually is much DARKER and deeper reds than show up here. I need to learn to work my camera better. I used  R35, 37, 39 and 59 to color up her overgown. Y11, 21, 23, 26, 28 for the yellow undershirt. And then the sleeves are W4, 6, 9. Her skin is YR000, 00, E11 and her hair is Y11 with tones of E13, 15, 17, 18 over it.  Her eyes are B41, 45.

Once I was done I used a satin ribbon and placed it down, and then a black lace ribbon on top of the lower edge. I added the pearls where they joined. The sentiment is a Flourishes sentiment.

Thank you for taking a peek at my blog. And please - check out the Sassy Studio Designs blog to see what inspiration the other ladies have created for you.

Festive Fortuneteller

I have been going crazy at work the past few weeks - ok this last year. SHEESH... Anyway - I have not had a lot of time to be all crafty just for the heck of it. But I am having fun this weekend. I am not out of the woods yet at work - but I can see the light over yonder... and hope that in about a week I am singing in the sunshine. But I am taking a break this weekend, and I have another just because I want to enter a challenge card!

This is my entry into the Kraftin Kimmie Feelin Festive Challenge. I figure - why do I need to limit myself? Why not embrace the weird? So inside she is going to foretell a Very Merry Christmas.

The patterned paper is from the Paper Studio Old Christmas pack. I colored her up with G21, 24, 28, 29, R22, 24, 27, 29, 39, E00, 11, 13, 25, 27, 29, 49, Y00. 11. 17. 21. 26.  For both the green and the red I went over the light area with yellow Y11. I did the same on her face with Y000. This was to try to make her glow a bit from both the lights dangling off the table (that is what I am making them so there) and the crystal ball. I tried to make the shadows come from the ball for the most part. so the shadows on her face are up higher and made with BV000 instead of my normal coloring darker.

OK... So I hope you are having a very crafty fun weekend. I am going to go make some mac and cheese and then start putting up the Christams tree while we hopefully watch A&M BTHO Mizzou!

Masked Assassin

I am not really sure how she would sneak around much in a dress like this, but maybe she just shocks them with her brazen-ness and then slices their throats. I like that idea.

I used V91, 93, 95 and 99 for her gown and mask. Her skin is E53, 55, 57. Her hair is E71, 74, 77, 79. The gold was the most odd.. It is Y11, 23, 26, E04 and E07. I think it gives is a bit of a metallic look with the brownish reds in it.

This is the Masked Warrior from Sassy Studio Designs about to be retired - after November 30 they will not be sold again in the same format!!!! But - YAY they are also having a Black Friday through Cyber Monday sale. Buy any 3 images get one free.

OK... Now to go do the shopping thing - at Home Depot... because I don't want to go anywhere near a mall, or shopping strip or anything.

Have a great weekend.

Ms. November's Challenge!

November 21st is False Confessions Day. Well Ms. November challenged us to do a TRUE Confessions challenge. The confession can be as tame or spicy as you want it to be, but please keep it appropriate. Give me your best confessions!

My confessions is that I really love tattoos. I love ones with really bright colors (very little orange though). BUT, I will NEVER EVER get one. Not because of the pain - although I am SUCH a WUSS.... but because I am too scared that in 3 days I will be bored with it and be disgusted that I chose that one and I am stuck with it. My tastes change too often.

I LOVE temporary tattoos because I can have a bunch of fun and change it as often as I want.  If I did get one I would want greens and blues and turquoise and purples. That is why I colored it this way.

I used the following colors to make up this lovely tattoo-ey image from the Growing Hearts set.

Colors Y32, 35, 38 B32, 34, 37, 39
G43, 48, RV52, 63, 66, 69 B60 63, C3, 5, 7, 9.

Now it is your turn. Tell us your True Confessions with you Bombshell stamps. Enter the challenge over on the Bombshelll Blog and you might even win some Rubber!!!

Sassy Baby on Board Sign

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Tuesday Alchemy challenge today. The challenge is to create Anything But a Card. I decided to use one of the new images just released - The Greatest Gift.

I made a little surprise Baby on Board sign. Figured this would be a great way for someone to tie around their neck and surprise their husband with, or something like that. :-)

I colored her up with YR000, 000 and E11. I did this as well on the bra and panties - as I wanted them to look a little thin and sheer. I then colored the bow up with YG61, 63 and 67. For her bra and panties, I colored over them lightly with YG61 and a very little bit of YG63. Once completed with that - I tool a 0.1 mm grey multiliner and squiggled all over it to make them look like they are laced up.  Her hair is Y21, E23 and E25.

I hope you all have a great day and come on back soon to check out what I have cooked up later this week!!!

He's Da BOMB! - - and a little horny!

Today is MUSE MONDAY over at Bombshell Stamps. We are trying to showcase a new stamp set every month to show how versatile some of these sets are. This month we are showcasing the Cherry Bomb stamp set.

This stamp set has a lot of really cool little icons and two main focal images. I have used the pin-up a few times, but never had I used the devil. I had to.

I have seen him colored up in reds mostly, but I thought he looked decidedly more evil this way - in all flesh tones. He is colored with YR000,00, E11 and E13. His horns and eyes are R20, 22, 24, 27. I went over all the black areas with W7 to make sure they all looked a bit darker and so that they matched a little the background that I airbrushed while still in the Nestie with W3 and 4.

The sentiment is from "The Witches of Eastwick" and I printed it out on white Hammermill paper in Chiller font.  Once completed I cut him out and then popped him up. Then I added a bit of crystal elements on his monocle.

I hope this inspired you a little on one of the various ways to use this stamp set.

Have a great week! Hope to see you again soon.

The Joy of Giving - Sassy Studio Designs November Release

Hey there guys it is DAY 1 of the Sassy Studio Designs November Release celebration. Today we are  enjoying getting ready for the Holidays by having 5 new Christmas-y Images to share with you. The image I used is Sassy Santa, and she is Va-Va-Va-Voom.

We tried to keep with a Vintage Christmas theme this year. And honestly - everytime I think Shabby Chic I think Pink and White - so that is what I chose.

Miss Sassy was colored up in YR000, 00, 11 and he outfit was colored with lots of RVs.... RV00, 10, 11, 32 and 34. Her bag is G20, 30,, 43.  Her hair is Y21, 31, 33, 35. Once done and cut out, I added polar white flower soft to give her fur some texture.

Now, if you didn't get here from the Sassy Studio Designs Blog - head on over and check it out. There is lots of awesome inspiration over there today. And tomorrow too!!! WOO HOO. All 5 images are really great.... I can't wait to color more of them up.

November Sketch Challenge

It is November Sketch Challenge Time. And Kathi has designed a really interesting sketch for us to work with. It is balanced yet unbalanced.

1112.jpg

Well - this is what I have created with it - I turned it a bit... because I just thought it fit better with the image I used.
I used the All my Heart set for this card. I colored it up with Purples (V04. 06. 09. 17) and Yellows (Y00, 11), Rusty colors (E04, 07, 08, 09) and YR02 and 07.

Once I was done, I placed it on black because it showed up so well. Then I picked colored paper that matched what I colored the image in. Those I edged with Black copic to give the strips a little more definition. Then the background paper is a vellum paper I had.

So - Here are the rules - Use the Sketch, Use a Bombshell Stamp, Make a Project and then submit it with Mr. Linky over on the Bombehsll Stamps Blog post. And VOILA - you are entered into the drawing for a chance to win yourself some free Bombshell Stamps!  Easy Peasy!

I hope you have a great day, and come back again soon!

It's an Old Fashioned Christmas - ala Sassy

Sassy Studio Designs is going crazy today. Seriously - we are sponsoring FOUR challenges today.   My mind is dizzy.

First up is Lady Anne's Challenge - with an Anything Goes theme. I have combined that one with the Love to Create Fancy Edges challenge.

I colored this image up with my BG7x series copics and the R8x. Her hair is Cool greys, and her feather is B60 and 63. After fussy cutting her out, I layered her onto a lacy edge white oval. I mimiced it on the edge of the card with the lacy edge strip that you can see the dark teal behind. The paper is one of my faves and I cannot remember where I got it from. but I needed even a bit more shimmer, so I added silver stickles to each junction of the lacey edges and also a bit on the paper.

Next up for the Sassy Sposoships is Tammy's Scrappin Corner - Anything Goes theme. I have combined this theme with the Artistic Inspirations Challege Blog (akaVintage Elusions) Recycling theme.

Here I recycled an old jewelry box I had into a new gift box that can hold almost anything. OK - anything of that size. :-D

I colored up this Mary Poppins image in beautiful shades of YG2x, B3X. Her boots and hair are E3x and her scarf is RV3x and R37 and 39. I took the box top and bottom and used a True Faith stained glass paper I had and wrapped them separately. I added the sentiment that I printed out and airbrushed the blue, and then a bow at the bottom.

I hope that you check out each of these wonderful challenge blogs and have some fun and maybe win a few Sassy Studio Design Stamps.

Have a great week!

Layer it Up

Sassy Studios is Sponsoring another wonderful Challenge blog today. Penny's Paper Crafty is having a challenge to use LOTS of Layers. Hmmmmm OK... that was a bit fun - and I decided to see how much I could do. HEE HEE.

Base Card - 1
First matted design paper layer - 2, 3
Second matted Design Paper Layer - 4, 5
Third Matted Design Layer - 6, 7
In one tiny spot - layered fancy tag with sentiment - 8, 9
And the image  in that ONE TEENY corner - 10.

Ok... so most of it is only 8. :-)

The paper I used was Basic Grey Sultry collection and the image is India Honey.  And yes - I found the paper AFTER I colored her - my usually freaking out modus opporandi.
I used E00, 11, 13 for her skin with a little of the RV10 for her cheeks. Her hair is E44, 47, 49. Her dress is RV10, 11, 13, 14 and toward the bottom I feathered it into the YR00, 02 to make it look as if the colors blended easily. The scarf is colored with BG10, 11, 13. For where it is over her hair and her outfit I colored very streaky the dress color and lighter hair color, then when over it with the BG10 and 11.  It was a nice pale sheer aqua... but then. DUM DUM DUM DUM. The Scarf is what I am most happy with, although it ended up that streaky look due to a really bad screw up.

See her jewels were colored with these pens I have - Pentel Slicci metallic pens. And since I am used to coloring with the fast drying copics, I didn't think and these take a while to dry, and I smeared her right earring into the aqua I had colored the  sheer cloth. There was no fixing it and keeping it sheer. So, I finally calmed down and lightly streaked the scarf in the direction of the fabric with the three pen colors and then smeared them more with my finger. You can't see it here (other than maybe her lips) but I then went over the scarf completely, and some areas of her dress - with clear Spica. It has gorgeous shimmer in person.

Ok... Whew - that was a long dissertation. HAHA.

Hope to see you back here again soon, and I hope you check out Penny's challenge today and also the Sassy Studio Designs Blog and see what all the DT has prepared for you!
