Last Christmas Card of the Year

Hey there guys. This is the last Christmas Card I will be posting for the 2012 season. Yeah, I know... Christmas is over, Blah Blah Blah. But, I didn't get this one posted, and so I will just do so now! HA!

This is a gift card holder I made for my cousin for the Christmas gift exchange. I used Stamps by Judith, and different shades of blue. The snowman itself has shades of B0000, 000, 00 and a little sparkly stuff thrown in. The scarf and mittens are the B2x family, and 24, 27, 29. The boots and hat are C1 - 7. Once I was done, I cut out the image, and then I left it in the hodler and used my airbrush to place B24 (I think) as the sky. I tried to make it darker at the edges. If you look at the image up close, you can see the overspray on some of the snowman and hat of the B24. I actually really like this effect. To me it softens it a bit, and makes it seem as if it is snowing maybe. In the end I added some Gelly Roll Clear Star to it to give it some sparkle (the snowflakes and the lights and a little on the snow.

The inside was done with the same colors, although the from panel ended up being REALLY dark compared to the other. Need to practice a little better control. LOL. Actually looking back at the pictures I think it is the little image inside that is the off color. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, hope to see you back soon. I have a spring card I have made and will post soon using Flourishes stamps, and I have been having a blast coloring up some of the new Kraftin Kimmie Alice in Wonderland series - although I am thinking I need more practice on Alice. And as always, January brings a month full of Bombshell goodness with it.

Talk to you soon.

Give it to Me ONE MORE TIME!

Hey there y'all!  It is that time of the month again when we celebrate all things Bombshell via a krazy fun Blog hop. This month Alison challenged us to think inside the box - the gift box that is. She asked that instead of a card we make a gift. It has been the season of giving you know! you should have arrived from taking a gander at Alex's project... if not, hop on over to the Bombshell stamps blog to start the hop out!
I have made two different gifts. The first one I made for my Sister-in-law and gave her her gift of Wonder Woman Pajamas in it. I have been dying to post it, but didn't want to blow the surprise. She got it Sunday night, and I haven't posted since then. :-)

I used a box I found at Hobby Lobby, and I added DCWV paper to it, I then steampunked it out with all sorts of doo dads, and then I added the Bombshell Retro Cowgirls and then made her a lovely Steampunky Dress type thing. I used tracing paper to design with pencil the dress. Then I used a lightbox to transfer the dress design onto the thicker paper to allow me to corlor it. To "top" it off I added the hat from the Halloween Costume Digi Stamps.

The second gift I made was a real departure for me - in the dimensional sense.

I used gold and white paper and mod-podged a wooden egg. I then colored up the lovely Rose in shades of yellowy gold (Y11, 21, 23, 26, 28). I cur out Rose, and then I trimmed her up a little to allow me to mold it to the egg. So where the back hairline meets the front hairline I cut it to the rose, and then tucked the back hair slightly under the front portion. I did the same with her hair on the side.

Once I mod Podged her up and it dried, I added all sorts of delicious bling all over the egg to give it a little dimension and interest to the back.  I am entering her in the iCopic bling in the New Years Challenge.

There you have it. My attempt at mixed media (well a little bit of mixing), and gifts for the holidays.

Thank you for stopping by. The next stop on you hop is the INCREDIBLY talented Milo!!!! If you get lost on your way the full list is below.

Koi - Sketch Style

It is that time again, when thoughts turn to the incredible sketches that Kathi, our fearless Bombshell leader, challenges us to use. This month she chose a simple beautiful sketch, and honestly, this ended up being one of my favorite cards I have EVER made.
This card was made a little bit differently - in that I worked different than I usually do. I first decided which way I wanted the sketch to be. Kathi challenged us to use this sketch, and I decided it needed to be flipped. Then I chose my stamp. I looked through all the Bombshells I had to figure out which ones went best with this layout.

Then I chose my paper. I found this Best Creations paper with a dragon flying up, but the great thing about it was the water at the bottom. And it coordinated with the other sheet of paper (the back paper). THEN I chose my colors to coordinate. I say this was different because I typically color up an image and then try to find paper that matches, then come up with a layout... so this was reversed almost.

I colored the Koi up with YR21 and then started layering from the inside edge of all of the scales with YR23, R22, 24 and 27, then I went back over with YR21. On the fins I layered the same way and added in R39 at the base to make it darker. I then added shading with the R22 along the scales. The "water" I tried to match some of the water splashing on the paper and used the W4, 6, 7, 9 series to try to match it.

I used crystal stickles over the water colored to add some shimmer to match the paper, and also used crystal effects to make the fish all shiny. The  I used some charms from the jewelry section at JoAnns to anchor the top.
Ok... Now that I have bored you all to death, I really hope you pop on over to the Bombshell Stamps blog and take part in the Sketch Challenge this month. And if you don't have any Bombshell stamps, take a look at the "Anything Goes" special challenge, for a chance to win some of these super fun stamps.

It's beginning to smell like Christmas

Hey there. The tree is up, the baking supplies bought... Gingerbread house decorated (ok - pre-baked gingerbread... wouldn't trust anything I baked not to be too soft), Chex Mix made and set of Peppermint brownies made. WHEW... crazy weekend... but it is beginning to smell like Christmas in MissAlaineous' Casa. I did get a chance to color up these two little angels and practice on my lighting from a point source.

After I colored up the Angels using the shading to try to make it look as if the lantern was the light source, I used som Y00 to highlight the lighter areas on the two angels and the snow.  I also added some nice sparkly prettyness on the fur, wings and snow to try to make it look like the crystals are reflecting the lights. LOVE... how it turned out.

I chose the colors based on the paper this time, and used RV9x and BG7x series as the primary colors. The boots are C series, and again I used a little yellow reflection.

I hope you all drop back by soon. I hope to have a bunch of Christmas cards up over the next couple of weeks, as well as some Bombshell Beuaties.  TTFN!

Bombshell Blog Hop!!!

It is Blog Hop time over at Bombshell Stamps If you arrived from Kelli's blog you are on the right track, and if not, then head on over to the Bombshell Stamps blog  to start your journey off. This month Ms. Alison chose a Color challenge with a pallete of oranges (shudder says the Aggie) and a touch of blue that she found on designseeds.com.

195490665_aYshGHB3_c[1].jpg

She asked that we use at least 3 of the colors shown above. I tried to take it a step farther because I am a suck up. HEE HEE.

I used Y21 and BG11 and airbrushed the background. I colored the yellow and oranges of the butterflies from Butterfly Queen. I used all sorts of copic colors to get the different shades (see below) The sentiment is from the Banner Sayings set. Once I was done, I fussy cut them out and placed them in crazy places on the card to look like the leaves in the inspiration picture. Because tha antennae were a little to difficult to cut, I drew them in. I used redline tape on their bodies and then I used foam dots of different thicknesses on the different butterflies to make their wings raise to give it some dimension.

I made this card with a friend and co-worker in mind. I was a little late for her birthday. BAD ME!  The butterflies colored up and flying up this way for some reason reminded me of her.

Now it is time for you to hop along on your journey.

Oh Christmas Tree

Had a blast with this simple little Christmas tree. I love these Mindscapes images. They are just so much fun and I can stare at them forever!!!

The oval was airbrushed with B32 I think. :-) I then stamped the image and sentiment (Flourishes) with Black Versafine and then clear embossed them.Once done I added crystal Stickles to various areas. After mounting them... I ran the bottom white cardstock through the Matha Stewart Score Board.

OK... now I am going to go upstairs and try to ignore the fact that it is raining STILL. Have a great week, and please join me back here on Wednesday for the Bombshell Blog Hop!

I feel like it has been forever since I posted anything. It has been quite a while. But I finally was able to get my craft on and work on a few things. I have a card to share for you that I got a giggle out of. It is a classic Christmas card with a Ghouly twist.

Going through my already printed / stamped images I came across the ever so lovely bride of Frankenstein and thought she needed to spread a little Christmas Cheer:

She put on her Christmas bandages, and is here to wish one and all Happy Holidays.  I colored her up with G02, 05, 07, 09 and R00, 02, 05, 08.Her skin is W1, 3, 4.

I really like how she turned out. Also, I want to let you all know Bombshell Stamps is having a SALE:

Theme Challenge - Waste Not Want Not

Hello All - - It is that time again - for us to get together and play along with our Monthly Pin-Ups challenge for the month.

Celina, Ms. November, has given us a GREAT challenge this month - to only use leftovers to create our card. All I could think about when I thought of leftovers was CRAZY Quilts.

I took a bunch of paper scraps and pieced them together in different configurations. For my first attempt I used straight lined piecing. I looked at a bunch of different crazy quilt "stitches" to decorate the edges. Some turnedout much better than others. LOL. These were done with enamel accents.  The main focal image is from the Love and Luck stamp set. I stamped it on an off white scrap with some really juicy Inksentials Pigment ink. This ink works really really well if you are not coloring with copics. It can stamp really black and also because of its juiciness works well on textured paper like I used here.

Once I har my image and heat embossed with Clear EP, I got out the Stickles and went to town. I used three different colors - Burgandy and two different greens. Once I dried it out I placed it on the black and added the dots for the "stitches" so that I had an applique on my card.

Ok... Now if you haven't been to the Bombshell Stamps blog - you should head over there and check it out. There is some great inspiration this month, and you can even enter to win some free RUBBER. YAY!

Floating a Sketch by you!

Yay verily it is that time again... time for the Sketch challenge over at Bombshell stamps. Kathi, as usual, has come up with a delightful sketch, and I am ever so thankful for it this time as it helped me get my mojo on this month.

I chose the LOVELICIOUS Mermaid Treasure stamps to make this card.  For the sentiment I masked off the Last two words and just stamped the first two... then I masked off the first two words and stamped the second two below the first. So it FITS!!!

For the mermaid, I want to tell you a little bit about how I get the colors. I REALLY enjoy combining colors on different thing. For example - The base coat of the Mermaid tail was YG11. I colored the tail COMPLETELY. Then I added deeper colors with B12 and B14. I blended back with the B12 to lighten it a bit, but I then colored over all of it again with the YG11. This gives the colors some really pretty depth and you get an overall feel that is different than either of the two color palettes alone.  YAY.

So... The remainder of her was colored with Y000, 11, 13 and YR14 for her hair. And the skin tones are E00, 11, 13. Also the Flower is R11, 14, 17.

I was so excited to find the paper... It was in a stash of old Sizzix little sizzlets paper I had that I had so completely forgotten about. I squeeeeed when I saw it, it works so well for water!!!  Ok now - go on over to the Bombshell Stamps blog and CHECK IT OUT!!! There is some seriously beautifimus schtuff going on over there.

See you again soon!

Snowy Delights

Flourishes is having the Snowy Delights challenge for their release week challenge and I HAD to join in... Ok... I admit it I am very very very desirous of wining free rubber, therefore I had to join in. LOL..

I had a lot of fun coloring up this lovely Cardinal. I started by using some a Distress pad to sponge on the blue color. Once I had that done I stamped the image with Memento and started coloring.  R24, 27, 29 and 89 was used to color the Cardinal and the berries. The branches are E23, 25. Once I was done, I got to make it SNOW! I took a really small paintbrush and used the Copic Opaque White to add snow to the branches and to the berries.

For the sentiment I used the same distress inks to get the background to match and then stamped with Versafine and clear embossed it.

I so cannot wait to see what Flourishes stamps are getting ready to release this week.

Have a great week!

Christmas Card - Friendly Flier

Ok. It has been a while since I made an Outlines Card, but I still LOVE their stamps, and I REALLY love using them for Christmas Cards. They are having a challenge this week over at the Outlines Challenge Blog for Friendly Fliers... Well this one just struck my funny bone - and I KEPT coming back to this stamp.

See Cuz Santa FLIES!!!! HEE HEE. And he is FRIENDLY. So... there you go.

For the colors I used R3x, E3x, Y11, and Y3x and E3x. I did use a bit of E04 on the bricks to add some red dimensions to them.

Hope you have a great week, and I hope to see you again soon.

CAS Time

Hey there all you people... It has been a Lot o' Crazy at work these last few weeks. Unfortunately it won't get much better for another couple of weeks; but, after that Hopefully it will be just a Lot o' Crazy at home for the Holidays.

So, these last few days I haven't created much, but what I have created has leaned WAY to the Clean and Simple land. I love CAS cards... as long as there is some coloring. :-)  I have two cards to share with you today that are CAS.

The first card is a combination of a Karen Lockhart stamp (the image) and a ThereSheGoes sentiment. I used a YG2x, BV2x, R2x and Y2x as the primary colors along with some Cx colors

My second card today is using Flourishes stamps and Y3x colors with a little E33 added over the yellow to deepen the shadows. The glass table is BG0000, BG000. The Reds are the R3x series.
In both of these cards the sentiment is stamped with Versafine and then clear embossed.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Mine would look a little better if the Aggies would pick up some speed and Beat the Heck out of OU!!!! ACK... Almost halftime. Hope the second half goes better. :-)

Geisha Sweet Pea

Hey there lovely ladies. I wanted to post something I did recently using my new (to me) Sweet Pea Stamps. But alas, I finished this card a few minutes ago using the new Bombshell Stamp digi stamp, and I was so happy with how it turned out I HAD to post it first.

She comes with a blank umbrella and this lovely Cherry Blossom one. I printed the image out both ways, and then cut them both out. I cut out the umbrella only with the cherry blossoms and then used a brad to attach it. So it spins around. EEEEk... The quote is something I found from Fiskars stamps and I thought it worked out well.   The markers I used are above. The flowers are the R8X series. The other colors I layered on top of each other, so the R0000 and RV000 are on top of each other which gives it a wonderful interesting look. Same with the E7x and the G8x. Turned out really fun.

The second card I have to share with you is from Sweet Pea Stamps, and is colored with the BV0X, E0X and YG0X  series. I used the BV04 to color the white pearls around the edge.

I love the Fairy here. She is so beautiful.

So there are my cards for today. YAY. Loved coloring both up.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and I hope you come back soon and check out what else I might have cooked up.

Very Skelly Halloween

Hippity Hoppity - Halloween is on its way!!   It is time for the Bombshell Blog Hop. The theme this month (go figure - Alison came up with it ;-) ) is Skelly's.  We have to use Skeletons on the project somewhere. Well that is a load of EAZY for me. My favorite stamps are the sugar skulls.  You should have arrived from Milo's blog. If not you should head on over to the Bombshell Stamps Blog to start your tour.

This is the outside of the card. I made a pop-up card for this one. On the black outside I stamped the long series of skulls from that set with black Versafine and clear embossed.
Inside I used the pop-ups (I may show how I did this sometime in the future), and added different design paper on the top and bottom. I taped a black piece (partially cut out with a Nestie) onto the popup area. Originally I intended to just use the pop up area (they were stairsteps) and paste on the skulls, but they jus did not stand out enough for me against that paper, so I added the black.
I used one each of the Sugar Skulls. I colored them with E81, and then added shading with YG91 and 93. The leaves are YG93, 95, 97. I used RV91, 95, 99, V91, 93, 95, 99, E04, 07, 09 and Y21, 23, 26 to decorate the skulls.

Now - you really REALLY should go check out what the other Bombshells are doing today - it is bound to be SKELLY! Sparkly Mary is the next lady on the hop!!!

Think PINK

Ms. October, the wonderfully talented Hey Hey Paula, has challenged us to Think Pink. Well, obviously pink is my youngest daughters favorite color, but interestingly enough the Copics Pinks are hard to match to paper. SIGH... It took a couple of tries, but I think I got close.
The design paper is Basic Grey, and quite frankly a little strange for me to use two different ones but it feels good. Although I love the sentiments that come with the different stamp sets, sometimes you want some of the "basics" in sentiments to go with your card or work.   I used the "new to me" Bombshell Sentiments. I love these, because they can be added to whatever other stamp you want to work for so many different occasions.  Also, there are a couple of blank banners you can add anything to. YAY.

I used the Lovely Halloween Costume digi-stamps to color up. I love this lady because she can be used for so many things. The pinks are RV10, 11, 13, 14 and 17. The blacks are C3,5,7 and her skin tones are E00, 01, 11 with her hair being the darker of that line - E13, 15, 17, 18 and a little E29 thrown in.
In this image, the light is coming from the front left, and the cape is bollowing quite a bit, so for example, the bottom right hand part of the cape in the image is out in front of the front edge of it. I also made the "black" a bit lighter grey, so that it looked a little shiny, reflecting - like Satin.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you check out what the other lovely ladies have done for this challenge by checking out the Bombshell stamps blog. And, if you play along with it, or with the Sketch challenge... you are entered to win a chance at free rubber!!! "Nudge Nudge"

Thank you for stopping by. I love having all of you visit. Have a great rest of the week.
