Hello all. WHEW. It has been a long day, but my challenge finally went live over on SplitCoastStampers. Here is the sample I made. Love the Bombshell girls, and she was perfect for this challenge (no... I did not plan it that way..wink wink... really).

She is colored up with E0000, E000, E00, E01 and R20. her hair is the E21, 23, 25, 27 and the blacks are C1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and reds R22, 24, 27, 29, 39.

I really hope you take a look at the different challenges over at SCS, and try some out. It is seriously cool how everyone translates these challenges into something unique.

I have two quick others to post below that were also challenge cards.

Thank you for coming by today, and I hope you come by again really soon.

Two VSN Cards!!!

I feel like I have been absent all month. I really have been busy. I was lucky enough to be chosen to be a hostess for the Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoaststampers, and I have been busily making several samples for the challenges. My challenge that I am hosting is not until tomorrow, but I have a couple of samples I want to share with yyou tonight.

The theme over there is Rodeo, and there are a bunch of great challenges up. The first on I made a sample for was for the God Bless Texas challenge. I have a couple of great Texas stamps - one that lists a whole bunch of cities on it, and another that has the Texas Bluebonnets on it.  I used the colors from the Texas flag, and then added the Bluebonnets and yellow roses.

The next sample I made was for the Through the Saloon Doors challenge. I used one of the Lovely Cowgirl Bombshells and colored her up in shades of Blue. and sparkly silver.  I used my Grand Nestabilities and cut out the largest and second largest nestie in White and Blue.  I gatefolded it, and put her inside. I added daisy flowers all along the edge and a double bow. I have velcro on the of the two edges to allow it to close and stay closed. I love how she is peeking out.

I should have a bunch more posted tomorrow, and then please join me later this week for teh BOMBSHELL BLOG HOP!!!! Some really remarkable artwork should be shown along the way - as usual!!

It's not so Shabby - and it's pretty Chic

Hey all! The challenge this month posted by Milo - the oh so talented Ms. August is to create a card that is shabby chic. I am not so hot with the Shabby - - it is so not linear and symmetrical enough for me and very distressed which is a little distressing to me. So I took my best shot and created this card for you. My interpretation of Shabby chic is to have differnt layers of the same thing with different textures and then throw a little glam and glitz and a slight color in there. I hope you like it.

I used the base card, and have a layer with one embossing folder, a second layer under the frame with a second embossing folder, and then the frame. I colored up the gorgeous rose, and cut her out and placed her in the frame. The frame was created by using two Nesties and Nesting them. :-)  Then while the frame was still in them, I airbrushed with my copics. RV91, 93, 95 and 99. The first layer RV91 is created with the chisel end... and the other colors are layered on top of it using the brush end to airbrush... this makes it more speckled. I used the same technique on the fancy label nestie.

For Rose I used the E0000, E000, E00 because I wanted really light skin. The pinks are the RV91, 93, 95 and 99. The hair is E50 base, with E71, 74, 77 layered through. The green is YG61, 93, 97, 99. The eyes are BG70 and 72, with B63, 66 and 79. I added some sparkle to the edges of the rose and the earring to make it shine.

Thank You for checking out my attempt at shabby chic. Please go check out the other Bombshells and see what all they have cooked up for this lovely challenge.

Bombshell Monthly Sketch

Hey there everyone. It has been a while since I posted. I have had a heckuva a last month, and I have gotten a little behind in my relaxation. I did have this card done about two weeks ago, but didn't have time to get it loaded for the Bombshell Sketch challenge posted on the blog on last Wednesday - - So I am posting it now, and hoping you all take a gander and then go enter into the monthly sketch challenge.

This is the sketch for the month, designed as always by the lovely and talented Bombshell Cap-ee-tan Kathi.  I LOVE this sketch... the symmetry of it, the clean lines, everything.

This is my take on the sketch. I used the Love and Hate stamp set. The paper is some DCWV I had. I decided that I did not want to go with standard colors for the rose, so I colored it blue and brown, and then mimiced it with the birds and the sentiments. The blues I used are B00, B21, 23, 24, 26, 29, and the Browns E21, 23, 25, 27.  I tried to feather some of the blues in with the browns on the birds.

Once I was done, I cut out all of them and uesd Glossy Accents to cover them. They are also popped up on the card with pop up tape.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I hope that you come back soon. I have some fun stuff coming up. I have a card for Bombshell Stamps that I am working on for their monthly pin-up challenge - it is a great challenge by Ms. August - Milo... I also have a tutorial I am working on, and then at the end of August Splitcoaststampers is having their Virtual Stamp Night and it is going to be a Rootin Tootin Good time. I am lucky enough to be one of the Rodeo hosts for the VSN, and I hope that you will check it out. It will be two days full of challenges.

Have a great week and see you soon.
