Black and White Bombshell Fright

Hey all my goblins and ghouls! Glad you made it over here to my home on the web for this Halloween edition of the Bombshell Hump Day Hop! You should have arrived from Mary's Blog, if not, please catch all of our goodies starting on the Bombshell blog.

Ms. Alison, our Hip Hostess for all Hump Day Hopping was especially excited this month as she is a HUGE fan of all things Halloweeny. She charged us to create a Halloween themed card - but with a twist - Black and White only! Immediately I knew I wanted to color something a little doodly / zentangly.

I used Bombshell Angel and Halloween Costume sets to create this lovely lady. But - with a twist!!!! A Zentangly twist. I took the outfit and used Copic multiliners and went to town on her outfit and her hair.  Once I was done, I worried it was too busy, but once I got the whole thing together I was really happy with her. I did use a touch of C3 on her to give her some shading in her skin and on her legs.

She has been cut out, and then mounted on foam tape. I printed out the saying from Young Frankenstein (LOVE Madeline Kahn) on my laser printer and adde that to the card. Finished it off with the blingy spiders.

Now... Off you go to the next blog on the block, which is EMIILY!! I hope you have a very happy Halloween.

Created with Love - Sassy Studio Designs Style

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the Created with Love challenge. Their challenge is a Halloween Blog Hop. Well my lady is not so much hopping as she is flying! I chose to use a slightly non-traditional twist on the traditional green and purple colors and one of the new Halloween release images!
For the purple I used V91, 93, 95, 99. I paired that with the BG70, 72, 75, 78 of the green. With those colors I wanted to go darker with the skin tones than I normally do, so I used E53, 55, 57 for her skin. The broom is E31, 35, 37, 39.

I paired that with the lovely paper, and the sentiments. I think she really pops out on the greyish / black paper, and the spider web mimics her hat.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my little home on the web. I hope to see you back again soon.

New Release Hop at Bombshell

The Bombshells are out in force today celebrating the two new stamp sets that have been released. They are Indian Princess and Indian Warrior and are a wonderful addition to the Western and Pin up Sets.  You should have arrived from Susie's blog. If not, you should head over to the Bombshell Blog for the FULL experience.

I decided to use the Indian Warrior set today.

The image is a blast to color and the additional bits and pieces and littler images with the set are all very cute and work well on their own.

I used E11, 13, 15 for her skin, and E25, 27, 29 for her hair. The dress was a soft buckskin color I achieved with E40, 41, 42, 43. I then went over the edges at the bottom with a burgandy multiliner and then added fringe to her top with the same color. The feathers on her headress are BG70. 72, 75 fading into th reds of R43, 56, 59.

The next step on the blog hop is Jodi. But if you get lost along the way you can check out the BombshellBlog for the full list.

See you all again soon!

NEW RELEASE OVER AT BOMBSHELL!!!!

If you are looking for the Sassy Studio Designs Post for today, it is here!

Bombshell Stamps has two new stamp sets in the Tattoo & Pin-Up Collection!
The Indian Princess  and Indian Warrior sets are two new gorgeous additions to the Bombshell line. They are available RIGHT NOW as digital sets, and also available as a pre-order in etched rubber!
The Bombshell's have been having a BLAST with these new images. Here is what I have created with Indian Princess. My daughter gave me the best compliment... she said that the lady looks like a real person! Bouncy Bouncy Me!

She was SOOOOOO much fun to color. Her skin is E11, 13, 15 and her hair is the E2x range from light to dark. I used R02, 05, 08, 29 for the reds, and B01, 02, 05, 06 for the turquoise blues. The feathers have C1, C3 and B00 ib them to lend to white feathers with a touch of depth.

Once done I cut her out and then added the silver pearls to her. I love turquoise and silver together. Now... go check out the other creations that the team has made for you. They have SERIOUSLY outdone themselves today. They are all beautiful.

Once Upon a Time...

There was a company that loved to sponsor challenge blogs. Now this company on a lovely Thursday in October chose to sponsor a fun challenge blog over at this one site called Aud Sentiments. They chose to challenge their subjects to include a sentiment from their favorite fairytale.

After much pondering and thoughtful interpretation, I could not narrow it down to a single story. Therefore I chose to incorporate the "Once Upon a Time" sentiment into my project because it is the beginning of every happy fairy tale (even some of the more modern ones (STAR WARS ANYONE??).

Steampunk Vivian SCREAMED At me to use her, and I think she fits nicely with this theme. She is out here to take charge of her own life. The inside says it all - - It uses the other sentiment that is tied with this one in my mind and that is "Happily Ever After".

I hope you jump on over to the Sassy Studio Designs blog and check out what the rest of the team has prepared for you.

Bombshell Tutorial Challenge

As a special edition challenge, this one was very fun. We were challenged to select one of the tutorials from Bombshell Stamps Fabulous Friday and incorporate it into one of our cards. I chose to go Toling ala Torrey.

I chose Homeward Bound for this card. I colored up my image with Copics (DUH). The colors used are below. But there are two things different about this card. I partially toled it. Is that a word?

OK... so I did that, and then I also have the image on the inside of the card with a window open to the inside.

I used E6000 to layer up the boat, sails and water. I have the entire boar (minus the ropes) as the 2nd layer of the card. Then I have the top main sails and boat as the third layer. The front sales and the water are the fourth layer.

I cut a Nestie out of black and layered it on top of the image and stuck it down with foam tape. Then I layered that on the right side of my base cardstock. I rand two different creases on the left side of the black cardstock where I wanted the base cardstock to fold over.  I then added tape to the non cutting side of the next size up Nestie I placed it where I wanted it, so it would be centered over the black layer. with the tape facing up. I then closed the card and it stuck to the inside of the green/ blue layer. I cut it out. Now when the card closes the opening fell right on top of the black opening on the inside of the card.  :D

OK so the colors I used are E50, 51, 53 for the sails, Y00, 21, 23 for the sun, BG70, 72, 75 for the water, Y11, 23, 26 for the gold on the boat, and E33, 35, 37 for the wood. The clouds are B60, and the sky is B91.

So, if you arrived here not from Bombshell Stamps blog - then I really hope that you head over and check out the blog today. And maybe join in with us for a chance to win a Bombshell Stamp Set.

Muse Monday Post - Very Moving Sketleton

Over on Bombshell Stamps blog we are celebrating a different stamp set every month. This month - to go along with the Halloween and Dia De Las Muertas that the Bombshells ADORE is the Calaveras Fiesta stamp set.  Now, every time I see these happy skeletons I think they have to move, so that is what I have done!

I used two stamped images of Mr. Bones. The first I cut out the torso, and the second I cut out the limbs. On the limbs I left a small circle of the torso at the end of each one. Enough that I could punch a brad hole through as well. I punched the torso where I wanted to attach as well as the limbs and used white brads to attach the limbs. Then I added pop up foam behind the torso and attached it to the black paper. This allows the arms and legs to move around. And yes... every time I pass the card, which is sitting on my counter I move the arms and legs around and giggle. :D

Here is the set we are celebrating."Calaveras Fiesta" Unmounted Stamps

Thanks for checking out my blog today. Hope to see you again soon.

Early Christmas Present

I got a really COOL early Christmas present when I got home one day this week. Thank You Kathi!!!!

I got this really cute stamp set in the present and had to use her immediately. Isn't she just ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!

I used the Spellbinders Creative Book templates to create the different shaped layers. For the blue outline of the inner one, I taped the die to the paper and then used an exacto knife to cut out the paper on the outer edge. It gives it a slight border. Once assembled it needed something else, so I added the pearls around the outer edge of the plaid paper.

I have a couple of other Christmas cards I have done recently too using some Elizabeth Bell designs. These used the traditional red and green.

OK... Now I need to go be all crafty and creativey. I hope you have a great weekend (and your football team wins).

GIG 'EM AGGIES!!!!

Sparkly Blingy Shimmery - Ahhhhh my kind of challenge

Hey there all of you Bombshell peeps and blogland buddies - the October pin-up challenge is to create with your Bombshell stamps and include some bling, sparkle, shimmer and shine in the Halloween colors of black, orange, green or purple. Your creation does not need to be Halloween themed however. In fact, even better if it isn't!

Ok... I have to say 1) Sparkle and Bling - YAY! 2) green and purple and black are great (orange - Uh - Aggies are allergic) and 3) - It is October so I had to go with Halloween themed. Sorry Ms. October - I had to!

I used some background paper and Stickled the heck out of it. :-) For the witch I used Bombshell Angel and Halloween Costume. I will be honest - I do not know the colors I used on her. I forgot to write them down. I do know that I went over certain items with a shiny stardust gel pen. You can see it as streaks like spiderwebs on her corset. In real life it doesn't reflect quite as much and it just looks all sparkly. :-)

I actually really like how this turned out. It was very simple, but I love the sparkliness of it.

Now, I hope if you didn't come here from the Bombshell blog that you go on over and check it out, and maybe stick around a bit and play along with us for the chance to win some pretty cool stamps!

B-I-N-G-O It's a Spooky Sassy Hop!

It is a release over at Sassy Studio Designs, and have they got three great new images for you!  I love all three, but I am a little partial to the one below. It's in her eyes I think!!!! You should have arrived from Karal's blog. If not - head on over to the blog to get it started. What the heck - you should check it out anyway because they had the first part of the hop yesterday and there were some AMAZING works displayed.

Now the hop today had a special theme. It was to play a little game of BINGO. I chose to use the diagonal left bottom to right top.

So here is my Bloody, Ghouly, FreeSpace, Bag with Tombstones and a Spider Web.

My project for the hop not only features one of the new images, but it is also for two challenge blogs that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring today - Maybe it should be spelled TWODAY!

The first is for the Vintage Elusions Challenge Blog - and the challenge is Ephemera / Anything Goes - And I think that the ghosts and the Grim Reaper work so very well for this challenge since ephemera essentially means things that do not stick around. :-)

The second challenge that we are sponsoring this week is for the Corrosive Challenge Blog - with the theme of Treacherous Treats - make a treat holder. Well what is more treacherous than the Grim Reaper? Although she is a very pretty reaper if I do say so myself!!!

Your next stop on our hop is Rina's Wonderful site (I had an error earlier I am sorry if I was the one to get you lost). If you get lost the entire blog hop list is below. Oh and be sure that you leave some loving for the different ladies as there will be some randomly selected comments to win some prizes. And then why don't you just sit down and play some BINGO along with us!!! :-)

A Card? - - Anything But....

If you are looking for the Bombshell Sketch Challenge - please scroll down to my next post.

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the challenge over at Penny's Paper-Crafty today, and they chose to encourage us to make anything but a card. Here is my attempt!

I used the lovely Masquerade 1 from Sassy Studio Designs, and a LOT of bling!  The box is wrapped with paper, and then I cut it out to allow it to open.

The colors of her dress and the feathers are  B00, 02, 05, 06 and 29. Also, The black is C3,5,7,9. Her skin is YR000, 00, E11, and her hair is Y00, E51, 53, 55, 57. There is a little shading on her mask that is B60, and then B05 for the rest of the designs on it. When I was done I used Glossy Accents to add to her mask and her necklace to make them shiny. The accents expanded a bit on her necklace - I guess I used a bit too much. :-)

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope to see you back again soon!

Sketchy Time

Hello All - It is sketch time in Bombshell Land. And Kathy had a really clean simple sketch for us today. I LOVED IT.

This is the beautiful - and a little wild - Butterfly Queen. I used both V12, 15, 17 series and V02, 05, 09 series for the outfit. And yes - I actually chose the paper first. :-)  I printed the sentiment out on my laser printer, and then cut it out and added it here.

Here is Kathi's sketch.

1012.jpg

Now the - Challenge here is to use the sketch. Yes it is that easy. Give your take on the sketch, enter it on the Blog, and you are in the draw to win some Bombshell Stamps. Rules - You can flip it flop it, twist it... just keep to the basic sketch theme.   I really hopw that you all jump on over to the Bombshell Blog and check out how the other ladies have interpreted this sketch... and stay and play!

World Card Making Day - It's a MAD place here!

Bombshell Stamps is celebrating World Card Making day. But we can't be all just -- oh lets make a card - - NO... we are too weird!

You see today is also MAD HATTER DAY! Woo Hoo! So we are making a Card for the day - but we are doing it Mad Hatter Style - Use or make those hats!!!!

I used Peek-A-Boo Geisha and Lotus Garden to make my card.  I also used a technique on the flower to reverse stamp it (you can check out my tutorial HERE). The crowning glory for this card was the HAT! I looked at several hats to put on her, but it came down to this one being the most authentic. I did draw one that was much wavier, but it just did not work!

The Bombshell DT has worked out some beautiful MAD cards. You should check out the blog and take a gander at what all they have done.

Now... I will have a bunch of cards going up this week and the next. I hope you come back and check them out!

Starting out this week VERY SASSY with a TOUCH OF PINK

Hello all you people out there in Blogland. First let me say I am VERY VERY excited to have been asked to join the Sassy Studio Designs Design Team. (Say that three times fast!). I love coloring up their images, so to make the very talented team was a very COOL thing. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! Still can't quite believe it!

I am starting off REALLY quickly too. You see SSD is sponsoring Link up For Pink and I have made a card to support that.

I chose the image Madam Honey to make this card. The inside reads "to get them checked".

I debated having her say "unless you have a crystal ball... you really should have them checked".  But thought this one was more positive.
I wanted to make sure that this card conveyed the right kind of energy. The  pink expresses unconditional love and nurturing, Green is the color of balance and growth, and Silver shows feminine energy. Ok... I looked that up! :-)  But I did it before I made the card, to make sure it sent the right message!

I hope you all check out what the other DT members have done on the Sassy Studio Designs blog to support this wonderful cause.

I used the following colors: E51, 53, 55, 57 for her skin, C1, 2, 5, 7 for the silver, R81, 83, 85, 89 for the Pink and G82, 85, 94, 99 for the greens. I then added starburst glitter pens on the silver, the crystal ball, and a little on her turban. Glossy Accents were added at the end for the crystal ball. The blue around the Nestie is B91 - airbrushed.
