Butterfly Toss

Hi there all. I hope you all had a very colorful weekend. We sure did. It is ALMOST Springlike!!!! ALMOST. We had to go over the mountains this morning... and it was all snowy... and then nice and sprinklike here when we got home. YAY.  Put me in the mood for some happy springlike coloring.

Lucky for me - this Alien Butterfly - one of the new digital images in the SCACD store fit the bill PERFECTLY.  Colored her with a bit of Copic markers and then blinged her up some more.  I added little sparkly jewels all over the butterfly in strategic places and then in other areas of the card.  I also LOVE the sentiment that goes with it. It is perfect.

I think I like to color butterflies so much as we don't have enough of them here. Whenever we go somewhere that has a butterfly garden I adore going in and hoping that one of the pretty blue ones lands on me. :-) And this is so incredible different and detailed, it made it a lot of fun to go a bit spring crazy with her.

Copic Colors Used:

Y0000,000,21
YG11, 13, 17
BG000, 10, 11, 13
RV000, 00

I hope all of you have an Anti-Everyday Week!!!!
Until Next time!

Washi Hoppy

It is Wednesday - the last one of the month - and that means it is time to Hop with the Bombshell babes. You should have arrived from Kim's blog

The theme this month is Washi tape.

I wanted to do this as a sepia toned project. With just a touch of the rose and bluegreen from the washi tape. So I used RV0000 and RV00 for the pink blush and the B000,00 for the blue. Other than that all colros on here are E4x series Copics. I don't have much in the way of Washi, but I just kind of cut them diagonally and added them as the background. Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Monika - can't wait to see what she has done.

Love Lift Us Up

Hi all.... I have actually been able to be a little crafty this weekend - thank goodness... I needed some crafty sanity!

I  had a blast with the "blast off" of Planet Transport from SCACD Digital.

I went all FUNKY Colored with this. But my favorite part of the coloring was, surprisingly, the background.  The light background I colored with B000 in a circular motion, making it a little wild and wonky. Then I used the blender pen to place polka dots everywhere. I mimiced this with the dark blue - but in this one I airbrushed with B06 and then did the same blender pen polka dot technique.

For the image I went all whimsical colored. The octopus is bright green - colored with YG11, 13, 17 and the purple is V12, 15, 17. The Airlift Batopus (or is it a Batsquid) was colored with V20, 22, 25, 28 and BG23 and 18 for the teal colors.

The Silver and gold of the steampunk elements are C2, 3, 5 for the silver, and Y11, 23, 26 for the gold with crystal stardust gelpen over it. Once done I added some silver cord and some steampunk gear elements.

I am going a little nutso here and entering several challenges. WOO HOO.
Ok... Now back to watching movies and coloring - thankfully my headache is mostly gone.

Butterfly Bingo

Hi guys. I hope you are having a great weekend. I was travelling earlier this month and didn't have time to get in my project for Ms. March' Pin Up Challenge. It was a game of Bingo and I LOVE Bingo. SAD FACE. Can't wait for my cruise later this year and Bingo!!!

But here I am with my BINGO combination.

The Bingo card is below:

I went diagonally! My first element in the B column is Lace - I cut a piece of black lace and wound it up to make a flower. To hold it in place I added the crystal as the center. The I column is the fancy border. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch I have. I like the little bit left on the ends. To me it gives it a bit of a finality.  Then I got a Free Space - because WHO Doesn't like Free. :-)

Then G - that is Butterflies - I used Butterfly Dreams for the two butterflies I used. Because I knew that I was using Black and white predominantly I thought they needed to be very colorful. So I used RV0x, BG0X and YG0x series to color them. The final square in my diagonal bingo was embossing. For this I used Versamark on the inside of one side of an embossing folder. I then very carefully placed my paper and then ran it through my Embossing tool... Once done I quickly added clear EP on it and heat embossed it. It gives a black DP like look to it with the matte and shiny making it look really cool.

OK... So now why don't you try your hand at Bombshell BINGO. You do not have to use a Bombshell image to enter, and you get a chance at wining some!

Til later - TATA!

Dream a Little Dream

Sometimes my dreams are a little whacked out. Ok.... most the time my dreams are a lot whacked out. I can admit that is why I really love this image. It is a crazy dream state that just screams wheeeeeeee.

This is Free Your Dreams. And indicative of so many of my dreams - completely weird but speaks volumes.

My favorite part of coloring this image was coloring the fish tail, fins and wings. For the fins I started with BG10, 11, 13, 15, 18. Worked that from one side. From the other I used BV11, 13, 17. I feathered them together.  I love how it all blends together and makes it soft and mystical. Then the pop of color, with the poppies... and the blue dress. Just seems ethereal to me. Add a little sparkle with a gelly stardust pen and BOOM goes the fish.

OK... I hope you all have a great week and weekend and get all inky and freaky!

Muse Monday (on Asia time).... It's Balancing Some Fish

The Muse Monday set this month at Bombshell stamps is Lotus Garden. I love this set and all the fun fish scales for coloring.

"Lotus Garden" Rubber Stamps Unfortunately since this is Muse Monday, and I followed the Mojo Monday sketch from last week, I am going to claim that this is Monday morning Asia time and post a bit early so I can get it in. :-)

The fish were colored with YR61, 65, 68 and then I added some reddish tones with R22, 24.  For the koi fish, I color the lightest color first... then I add darker colors near the narrower part of the scales and then more and more. This gives dimension to the scales and makes them stand out a bit.

I hope you are inspired by this artwork. I am now inspired to go find another Diet Dr. Pepper. :-)

Nautical Sketch

Ahoy there Mateys. It is Wednesday and another Bombshell Stamps Challenge day. The sketch this month is a great sketch with lovely straight lines and a lot of balance.

Feel free to flip it, flop it, and make it your own. Use your Bombshell stamps to be eligible to win a fabby prize. With This effort I decided to stick with a Nautical theme that is simple and clean.

I used the anchor image from Ahoy Sailor.and the sentiment from Homeward Bound.  The anchor was colored with C2, 3, 5, B16, 18 and the rope was R14, 17, 29. The stars are Y11, Y17.

I hope you check out our wonderful challenge this month and enter for a chance to win some free rubber!!!

Beautiful Blue Borg!

Cyber Chic is her name - Borg is what I thought of... just beautiful Borg. And apparently Blue Borg.

For some reason when I first saw this image, I kept thinking in monotones. All Sepia, all greyscale, etc... So I love how she has turned out in shades of blue and blue violet. The main colors for her skin and hair are B60, 63, 66, 69.  The greys are the cool grey family, and the background is BV02, 04, 08. The planets, are the Violet family V91, 93, 95, 97 - more of an earthy violet.  Once I was finished... with the coloring that is... I added bling.

The crystals added were all along the circuit boards, and her hair decoration and the stars. For the ones where even my tiniest crystals wouldn't work, I used a stick pin, and dimensional glaze and dotted it on to the screws, and eyelashes. I also used some on her earrings, eyes and lips to give a shiny effect.

There are a whole bunch of new Digital stamps that were released this week over at Susana Loves Stamps!!! They are ALL out of this world! I am really psyched over the Free Your Dreams image and the Alien Butterfly and the rest are stupendous and just screaming out to me - get me INKY!

Thanks for popping in. I hope you all are having a great week and will come back and visit again soon!

A Little Mixed Media to Start your Saturday.

Hi guys... How are all of you doing? I have had a great time playing with a few different things, and I thought I would share it with you.

This is a little bit of this and a little bit of that thrown in with a couple of images and Voila.... Mixed media art.  The first think I did for this was to use the Crafters Workshop Gears stencil and laid it on a burlap canvas. I used a magenta acrylic paint and painted the canvas. I then picked out the Steampunk Dragonfly

and Nancy's Mech Seahorse.

I colored these with Copic markers, cut them out, and then when done I used Crystal Lacquer to make them shiny and hard.

Copic Colors - BG70, 72, 75, 78, Y11, 23, 26, 28, C1, 3, 5, B60.

The final touches were some gears and clocks and flowers.

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. To be honest sometimes mixed media scares me because I always think of it as off balance, and crazy. I love how it ends up looking, but that is really not my crafting style (my personality maybe, but not my OCD style). So letting go and mixing things up is a challenge. But, I really like how this turned out, and basically - if I can do mixed media - anyone can!!!!

I hope you all have a great and productive weekend, and we will see you again soon!!!!
