Watching the Olympic trials in Swimming has been a lot of fun. I have enjoyed it more than the gymnastics which is odd. But made me think about the Bombshells - - cause they seem to be wearing swimming suits. :-)... well this one has a little skirt on with hers. But these swimmers are built for speed too... so I combined the sentiment from the King of the Road stamp set with the lady pirate from A Pirates Life stamp set and came up with this:
Her skin tone was a little darker, as she is in the water a lot - -so I used E00, 11, 13. Her hair I colored with E23, 25, 27. The blues are B21, 24, 26, 29 and the whites have shading done with B0000, 000. I added some gold pen to her boots, buckle and earrings. Once she was all prettied up, I cut her out and then outlined her with black... this makes the edges look a little bit more finished when you are done. GlitteryKatie gave a little tip tuptorial on one way to do this over at the Bombshell blog a while ago.
Ok... so I have been posting like crazy yesterday and today. I also hope to have more tomorrow and then again Wednsesday. Wooooooo.... Yay weekends.
Keep Cool Y'all!

Seriously - Don't Make me Do It!!!
So I missed a co-workers birthday at work when I was on vacation, and I haven't gotten a chance to make her a card yet. Since it is a month late (oooops) I thought she needed something fun and maybe appropriate that she could put in her cube at work. And Kraftin Kimmie had a Facebook Challenge with Purple. Put them together and what do you get?????
You get this gorgeous green-haired witch threatening to kick some serious rear.
The hardest part about this card? Finding monkeys and getting them to stay in their little cage. They are so ready to be released to the wild. I was lamenting the fact that the monkeys are cutesy and didn't go with the theme... but my hubby clued me into the fact that they are sneaky, deceptive monkeys. Everyone thinks they're so cute and cuddly, then WHAM out comes the claws and the feces starts flying!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and keeping cool. I plan to continue to stay inside and color, color, color. :-)
Oh yeah - colors:
Dress and hat = V01, 05, 06, 09
Hair and sleeves - YG11, 13, 17, G19
Skin - E41, 42, BV00
Broom - E21, 23, 27, Y08, YR07, 09
Edging with airbrush - C3, V22, V25
TTFN!

Oh Zephyr winds that blow on high / Lift me now so I can Fly
This card is one of my favorite cards in a while... mainly because of the background paper, and the mythological look I got with it.
When I was a kid I remember watching every Saturday the Shazam / Isis hour. LOVED it. The Kraftin Kimmie stamp Cleo reminds me of that show. Did you know that mighty Isis was the first live-action tv show with a female superhero? Before Wonder Woman. WOW! And trust me - I watched a clip - - WOW it was bad!!!! But I still loved it.
I used three different design paper with this - all from the new DCWV mini stardust matstack. Some really cool papers in this kit. I also used two different ribbons- a gold one and a navy one.
I colored the pyramids with Y11, and then layered over with Y21, 23, 26, 28. I then moved on and colored her skin. Iused YR000 as the base and then layered over with E11 and 13 for the shadows. I finished off her cheeks with a little R21. Her eyelids are B34 with B37 faded in from the corners. The jewelsin her crown and the badn of her headband are also the blues. Her hair was next. I used E25, 27, 29 and 49. I wanted her dress to be white, but since it was at night, it needed to reflect some of the night colors. To do this I used B60, 65 and 66 in some areas and left white in other areas. I finished it off with a gold pentel pen I have to add the collar and the gold on the crown.
I fussy cut her out and then edged her with black si she blended in with the background a bit more.
Now I am going to go back to watching the Olympic trials. I have had fun yelling at the television. Very happy that so far 2 Aggie women are going for the US - Breeja Larson in Breaststroke, and Cammile Adams in Butterfly! WHOOP. There are several who are on the Mexican team too - Erica Dittmer, Rita Medrano and Lili Ibanez. GIG 'EM!
Have a great weekend.

True Love
Aw.... Ok... so it was the sentiment that fit in the spot. :-) I had a great time coloring up the flowers. I originally was going to use them to decorate a kleenex Box holder, but it was too much with the patterned paper I used, so I decided to nix that idea, and came up with thie card.
I used B12, 14 to start from the centers out. Then E40, 41, 43 to move into the center on the big flowers. I also used the lighter of these on the little balls. The E40, 41, 43, 44 was used on the poofier flowers. Not sure what kind of flowes any of these are... but poofy explains some of them. The greens were colored with G40, 43, 46, 29.
I used the Nestie cutouts and stamped the sentiment on the middle with Versafine and clear embossed. I added the little pearls to it because it needed some pop.
Now I am going to go in my ktichen and get a bowl of ice cream and maybe a glass of ice and pour it all over me, cuz it was 103 today, and supposed to be hotter than ever tomorrow. No ... seriously... it is supposed to beat the ALL TIME RECORD HIGH tomorrow by 2+ degrees. And then do the same or worse on Saturday. ACK. Need to find lots of snow pictures to color.
Maybe that will help. ;-)
C'Ya later alligator!

Hip-Hip-Hooray! Three Cheers Blog-Hop
Howdy Howdy Howdy! The Bombshell Hop this month is all about three cheers for Summer. What does that mean? It means we were challenged to make a summer themed project...but there's gotta be either the number 3, or 3 of
something on your project. 3 eyelets, 3 patterned papers, etc...
My Koi Tattoo fishies were hot and are cooling down in their little pool.
I chose severl Threes in this card. First I used three colors - The aqua colors (BG10, 53, 57), Black, and Coral (R02, 05, 08). I used three focal images (4 stamps but I layered two so that is one image ;-) ). And other than the base, I have three layers before the images. This is all surrounded by little bits of three pearl drops. The Paper even had three initials (SEI). HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ok... so you should have arrived from Laura's blog - if not you should head over to the Bombshell Blog and check the blog hop out from the beginning. Otherwise your next stop is CASSIE!!!!! Have a great hop, and a great rest of the week.

Cocky Sketch
So... I got this new to me Kraftin Kimmie stamp and decided to just have a bunch of fun coloring her up in these bright colors. Then I thought I have no clue what I am going to do... then I saw the Kraftin Kimmie sketch and thought well... that works.
But, she just seemed like more quirky than the sketch, so I decided to make her a little cocky. :-) Ok... so those of you who know me KNOW that this twisting is WAY outside of the box for me... but it was fun!
Copic Colors used - YG01, 3, 5, 7, 9, BG01, 2, 5, 7, 9, V01, 05, 06, 09, RV00, 02, 06, E000, 00, 11.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!

Up the flagpole!
Hey there all. Glad to see you back. This time it is to celebrate Bombshell Stamps Ms. June's pinup challenge. Crafty Pink Anchor (aka Kim) is Ms. June and she has challenged us to "Raise Yer Flag"! There are so many ways you can interpret this, but I decided to use a Bombshell Stamps Freebie (to Nesletter subscribers) and the Ahoy Sailor stamp set.
The blues are B21, 23, 26, 29 and 39. Coloring around all those stars was tricky!!!!! The reds are R22, 24, 27, 29 and 39. The yellows I started out with a base of Y11, and colored over with Y23, 26, 28. The greens are G21, YG23, 25, G28 and the skin is E000, 00, 11, R20.
I used one of the Grand Nestabilities and cut out the white cardstock and then scored it in half. I did the same with one size larger in the blue. I layerd those up and then placed the flag with the sailor insert inside it. Once done I added a bit o bling with the gold pearlies.
Now I really encourage you all to pop over to the Bombshell blog and check out all the other inspiration the ladies have for you. And you really should try your hand at this challenge. You enter, and you can win free rubber... and this one is so easy, because there are four digital flag stamps just waiting for you if you subscribe to the newsletter. I mean, you use free stamps to make the card and the possibly win free stamps for making a card with free stamps. Where is the bad in that?!!!! F-R-E-E!!!!!
See you back here again soon.

Noon Time Challenges!
I have really been having really fun making these little cards. I have done two things for the Flourishes challenges. The first for their Pop-Up Noon challenge, where we were to pop-up a portion of the image. I decided to use the bookplate stamps, color it completely once, and then the frame on the other image, cut it out and pop up the frame.
I colored this with BV11, 13, 17, YG13, 17, G17, G19 and B12. Even though the pictures is big, the card is only 1 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches. I was like Eeeekkkk giggle.
The second card is a bit bigger. It is for the Flourishes Noon Arts and Letters Challenge. This one was harder, because well... I have very few letters. (this is why I am so excited about their new letter stamps). I found this chip art that I did have and sponged it with versafine and then clear embossed. The embellishments on top and bottom are from the strut your stuff stamp set, and I used versafine on them as well.
OK... so this bottom one was stepping out of the box big time for me, but that is what I see the challenges for... to challenge me to try something new!
Have a great weekend, and I hope to be a little crafty this weekend and post some fun stuff.

Itty Bitty Sketch
It is that time again Bombshell Peeps when the sketch comes out on the blog and the Bombshells strut their stuff with their interpretation of the sketch. This time I went little bitty. Not intentionally actually.. there is a story.
You see I got my new to me stamps in, and had the lovely Mermaid Anchor to color up. And color her up I did. I turned her top into seashells, and I was so freaking proud. Then I colored her hair and skin and it was all glowy and beautiful. And had colored most of her tail. But then I went to layer a color on it, and apparently I received that marker a tad overfilled. As I was coloring lightly an entire blob of color came out and saturated the area. I worked it and worked it until I thought I had it done. Then I bled some of the marker off and went to finish up the rest of the tail with that color. Yeah, didn't bleed off enough. a freaking POOL came out of the marker. There was no salvaging this. It had gone up her belly, etc. etc. etc... So I had to improvise.
I cut her out and made up this tiny gift tag. 2.25 x 3.25.
Now - here comes the best part - - if you take Kathi's sketch - - flip it, flop it, interpret it - use Bombshell Stamps and upload your take on the sketch by the end of the month, and you have a chance to win a wonderful prize - a $20 gift certficate to Bombshell Stamps. You can upload at the Bombshell Stamps Blog or on the forum... or double your chances and upload your take in both places.
Have a great rest of the week, and I hope to see you again here soon.

Flourishes - Gimme Ten (+ another)
The Flourishes Release week challenge this month was to do a quick card. Well... This one was pretty quick. :-)
I used the new set On the Porch to create this card... well I used the sentiment stamp from it. I punched out several different layers of nesties, stamped the sentiment on the lightest, layered them back together and grabbed two flowers and spritzed those with Glimmer Mist. Voila. Ten minute card. :D
The second one is more my style (since I colored it - HAHA). This is also from the On the Porch Set. It reminded me of all of the Paula Vaughan cross stitch kits that I have. I love her stuff... although it is much easier to color than to cross-stitch them since there are so many colors to get the shading right.
The image is colored up with BG70, 72, 75, R81, 83, 85, 89, E04, 07, 08, B60, 63, 66, E71, 74, 77, YG 61, 63, 67.
The sentiment on this one was double stamped - first with VersaMagic Sea Breeze, then with Versafine Onyx Black. It was then embossed to make it a little brighter.
Thanks for stopping by today. I am hopeful that now that I am back from Vacation, and starting to get better from my standard after vacation illness requiring antibiotics, that I can post more regularly. :D

It has been a LONG time...
I had a FANTABULOUS time in Arizona on vacation, and I forgot to load up my blog with the cards I made before I left. BAD ALAINE!!!
I made this for a tutorial over on the Bombshell blog that already ran... on making the paper roses. You can find the tutorial here.
This is the finished product. Once I had it completed, I added some Stickles (crystal) to the edges to make it shiny. I then took the saying from Rose's Portrait, and a butterfly from Butterfly Queen (stamped twice and colored) and added it to the card. TADA!
The second card I am going to load up I did for the Bombshell Blog hop, BEFORE I realized I was going to be out of town and have no access to a computer in order to get in on the hop. SIGH.
The hop was to celebrate a Holiday. I decided to celebrate May Day Bombshell Style. I used a lot of stamps.
Main Image from Cherry Bomb (1 Stamp)
Sentiment from Mermaid Treasure (1 stamp)with stars from Ahoy Sailor (1 stamp)
Squiggly lines on white part in green from Alter Skulls (1 Stamp),
May day Pole from Mermaid Anchor (1 stamp) and top from Peek A Boo Geisha (1stamp)
Flowers from: Hula Girl (3 stamps), Cherry Bomb (1 stamp), Butterfly Queen (1 stamp), Bombshell Angel (1 stamp); Sugar Skulls (1 stamp)
Total 13 stamps from 10 different sets - Whew. This was partially for an Inner-Design Team challenge on using the most stamps. I thought I had it made, then Stempel, Katie and Alison absolutely smashed my chances!
OK... I will be more consistent in my posts. I will be. Maybe!
Have a great rest of the week - I have to go back to work tomorrow so BOO.
