Ms. March's Pin Up Challenge - Use 3 stamps

It is time for the Bombshell Pin Up challenge and this month our lovely Ms. March has challenged us to use three stamps on one project. I cheated - I used 4... SHHHHH... Maybe I won't count the sentiment. Then I just used three. :-)

This was a great challenge. Splitcoaststampers on their VSN had an Inchie challenge. Well I combined both that and this one to use multiple stamps and here I am. I really enjoyed this because it was such an easy card to make. No coloring. Just a few square punches and a little cutting and BOOM there it is. The images were all stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and then clear embossed.

Avast me Hearties - Splatter thee up!

It is a dual post for ye fine spirited mateys today.  Ye query why I be speaking this way? Well it is the fine "Talk Like a Pirate" day, and I have made a card in celebration.

Me Pirate Lassy be colored up with the Bountiful Copics, and other bounty from the same set adorn the treasure map she lounges upon. In her dreams are the wish to "go on account" in her own clipper ship.

The second card was made for the Mighty Lass Ms. September and her wish for us to splatter upon the paper all manner of painted items.

Her dress was adorned with thee copics colors three, although applied very differently. HEE HEE - I Rhymed. I sprayed the colors through the flexible tip, I even got refills and let it drip. Once she was colored and cut out so fine, the bling was added to make it shine.
OK.- - I need to get some sleep. OBVIOUSLY.

Built...

Watching the Olympic trials in Swimming has been a lot of fun. I have enjoyed it more than the gymnastics which is odd. But made me think about the Bombshells - - cause they seem to be wearing swimming suits. :-)... well this one has a little skirt on with hers. But these swimmers are built for speed too... so I combined the sentiment from the King of the Road stamp set with the lady pirate from A Pirates Life stamp set and came up with this:

Her skin tone was a little darker, as she is in the water a lot - -so I used E00, 11, 13. Her hair I colored with E23, 25, 27. The blues are B21, 24, 26, 29 and the whites have shading done with B0000, 000. I added some gold pen to her boots, buckle and earrings.  Once she was all prettied up, I cut her out and then outlined her with black... this makes the edges look a little bit more finished when you are done. GlitteryKatie gave a little tip tuptorial on one way to do this over at the Bombshell blog a while ago.

Ok... so I have been posting like crazy yesterday and today. I also hope to have more tomorrow and then again Wednsesday. Wooooooo.... Yay weekends.

My Altered Ego

Miss April's challenge was to Alter something. You can change its purpose or just take the plain and make it beautiful, bring out your Altered ego.

Initially I tried to stamp on some glass with staz-on. And I tried some more. And I wiped it off and tried some more. And... cursed a bit... and tried some more. Needless to say I now believe that staz-on is the devils tool sent to torture poor unsuspecting stampers. I was a little high from the fumes by this time, so the revelation - although a bit disconcerting to believe that the devil has attacked an inanimate object in my house  - actually made a bit of sense.

So I went back to something I felt more comfortable with - Copic Ink.

I took YG25, B26 and V15 and dripped a few drops of each on a paper plate. Then I swirled it together just a little bit... Too much and it looked muddy. To little and it is just a bunch of polka dots randomly placed on a plate.

I then dipped the wooden block from an unmounted stamp set I have in the ink. I did this on all sides until I got the marbled look. Cool huh?!!!

I then took the parrot from "A Pirate's Life" and colored him up. I used the same base colors of YG25, B26, V15 along with lighter and darker versions of those colors. I also used R24, 27, 29.  Once I was done I cut it out. I think that turned out taking longer than actually coloring it did.

I Mod-Podged it to the wood block, and then used ModPodge Dimensional magic on the top to make it smoother than the mod podge alone did. As a final note I added the flowers. And this is what I ended up with:

Do I have any clue what I will use it for? NO FREAKING IDEA! But it was fun all the same. :-)
