Kenny K's Challenge, and a Birthday Card for a Friend

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz have a new challenge blog. Their first challenge was issued today. The challenge is to use pastels. Why is it always when it is time to use pastels, that is when I want to use brights?

Anyway - Kenny K has a wonderful Freebie available this month that I snagged to use for this challenge.  

The image is stamped with Memento on  (duh I had a brain flip)... was laser printed on Hammermill Color Copy Cover. It is very smooth and works really well with the Copics.

I used the following Copics for the image - 

Skin - E000, E00, Blush - R20.

Eyes - B02, B05, Eyeshadow - V000, V01

Mouth - R32, 35, 37, Lipstick RV00, RV02, RV04

Hair - YR21, Y23, Y26, E33 Highlights - white gel pen

Shirt - V0000, V000, V01, V04

Pants - B0000, B000, B00, B02

Boots - RV000, RV00, RV02, Y23, Y26

Keyboard - RV000, RV00, RV02

I went over the eyes, eyeshadow, lips, teeth :-) , boots and shirt with spica clear.

Once I was done, I cut out with a Nestie the top part of the image, and then cut out the bottom part by hand. I then edged it with Memento Summer Sky and Memento Paris Dusk. The "floor" is cut out with a Nestie Fancy Label. It was this Real Wood Paper that I found at the LSS, and I used a bit of Distress ink to make it a little darker and make the grain a little more apparent.  The Design Paper is Basic Grey, and the base is Bazzill. I also colored a white ribbon with V04 and used a Fiskars punch to punch the ribbon edge, and threaded the newly colored ribbon through. The header is an Elvis Stamp. It was stamped with Versafine and Clear Embossed.

It was a fun challenge. I was thinking she would look awesome in red and using gingham, etc... so I may have to redo her sometime in the future.

The second card is a card that I made for a friend of mine at work. Michele (with one "l") don't look unless it is after Monday. :-)

 
The gnome I found online. Not sure where. I colored with Copics R22, 24, 27, B21, 23, 24, 26, E31, 33, 35, 37 and G21, 24, 28. C00, C01, C03.

Cut out with a Nestie, and then while still in the NEstie, I sponged with Memento summer sky. The flowers are white flowers that I spritzed with Glimmer Mist. Then I added some bling from K&Co. for their centers.
