Let's Hop for the girls!!!!!

Hey there all! How are you doing? The Bombshell Stamps blog hop is NOW! WHOOOOOOPPPPP!!!!

October in the US is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We were charged to create a card or project that could be sent to someone during this time... so we all were charged to THINK PINK.

You should have arrived from the Cajun Stamping Queen's blog. If not, the Bombshell Blog is the start of this little adventure.

I decided to go with the wonderful Butterfly Dreams set.

I colored it up with my copics and then cut out the images. They were mounted on a white Nestie, but the fun part is that the wings were lifted up with pop dots to give it dimension. We cut out the background of pink with our Pazzles machine. and I added in the clear crystals by hand.  To me this can be used anytime, but the symbol of butterflies flying make me think of overcoming and stretching your wings to fly.

Your next step on the hop is the very Glittery Katie's blog.

Also - if you get a chance, try your hand at the challenges this month. There is a Sketch Challenge, and the monthly Pin Up challenge to splatter some paint. You have a chance to win some stamps. Cool stamps... Bombshell stamps.

This is the complete Blog Hop list just in case you get lost a little bit along the way.

Autumn Card - MissAlaineous' Style

I will say, the preponderance of Autumnal colors for challenges is a bit overwhelming for me - because I am so NOT a fall.  Almost any other season yes, but fall colors - just not my cup of tea.  But - there you have it - I must challenge myself and thus I have.
I love mythology. And when mythology is brought into modern storytelling I like it even more (Sherilyn Kenyon anyone?). So I gravitated toward this stamp immediately when I saw it.

I thought that the sentiment also worked really well. That was done with some stickers from this Basic Grey pack I had. YAY. I was going to print something out, but I really like how this matched the paper from the set. And no - I don't know what it is other than Basic Grey.

This was a challenge in more ways than one. See all those lovely snakes on her head? All those individual snakes that swirl and curl with different colored underbellies? Yeah - those - THOSE ARE HARD TO COLOR. It is like Curly hair on SPEED.

Her skin was the lovely shades of YG61, 63, 67. Her dress, lips and the red parts of the snakes are E04, 07, 08, 09, 18. The gold of her crown, the snake underbellies and her eyes are Y11, 21, 23, 26, 28. I used a gold pen and a bronze pen to outline her crown and her belt and necklace.

I am taking full advantage of the color challenges this week, and entering it into the following:

Emmy Awards - OK. yeah I made that up

I colored up this beautiful image just for fun. Her name is Katniss on Fire, but I kept seeing the gown in pink, so bank the fires and turn on the award ceremony.  The Emmy's are tonight, and although I don't really watch them, I do enjoy watching the gowns. I think she would fit in perfectly at the Emmy's.

I colored her skin tones in YR000,00, E11 with a touch of RV000on her cheeks. Her eyes are B91, 93, 95. Her hair I started with E23, and worked my way through the E2x series.  And her gown....
... Her gown was colored up with R81, 83, 85, 89.  I did her lips in the first three colors as well. Once I was done I cut her out. I do this a lot, but WOW... she was a tough one. I edged her in black.  So..... then I had a problem. While I had been edging her I apparently had gotten some on my fingers and then touched a few places. UGH. The skin was the worst. I tried to get rid of it, and it smeared. OMG... So I lightened it as best as I could and then used the pink to draw little bands on her arms and neck. Although there were only two spots (one on neck and one on her arm) that were bad, she needed a bit of balance. So, I put them in several places and then outlined them with a 0.03 multiliner and added a bit of loopy things on the bottom. Now she has on her jewels.

Speaking of jewels... the sparkly bling on here is all clear. Yep - clear. The three centers to the black flowers, and the surrounding bling on the black Nestie were colored using the R85 after they were applied. That way it matches perfectly!

I am entering this into the following challenges:

ATC's and Cards with Attitude - Challenge 23 - Anything Goes
MarkerPop Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for popping by! Hope to see you again soon.

Purple and Green And Black - Oh My!

Bombshell Angel for this card along with Halloween Costume Outfits. I love these outfits... especially this caped one. Gorgeous, and a lot of fun to color up (more on that later). The background print is not printed paper, but black paper with VersaMark stamped image from the Bombshell Patterns stamps, then embossed with purple and green embossing powder. I mounted these on sparkly green paper, and then on black card base.

I colored her up with all sorts of pretty puples and greens. For the purples I used a standard V12, 15, 17, 09. But for the greens I got a little more adventurous. That is YG13, 25, 67. I tend to color light to dark. So I start by coloring all the light colors in first, and layering on the dark and going back over it. For the Green on her dress I tried to make it a little more smooth, where the purple lining I wanted a little bit of texture, so I did a lot of streaking motions on this one. For some reaosn I picture the inside of this cape as royal purple velvet.
Entering this in the MarkerPop Challenge for Anything!!! (cuz this is anything!)

Thanks for popping by. Hope to see you again soon.

Avast me Hearties - Splatter thee up!

It is a dual post for ye fine spirited mateys today.  Ye query why I be speaking this way? Well it is the fine "Talk Like a Pirate" day, and I have made a card in celebration.

Me Pirate Lassy be colored up with the Bountiful Copics, and other bounty from the same set adorn the treasure map she lounges upon. In her dreams are the wish to "go on account" in her own clipper ship.

The second card was made for the Mighty Lass Ms. September and her wish for us to splatter upon the paper all manner of painted items.

Her dress was adorned with thee copics colors three, although applied very differently. HEE HEE - I Rhymed. I sprayed the colors through the flexible tip, I even got refills and let it drip. Once she was colored and cut out so fine, the bling was added to make it shine.
OK.- - I need to get some sleep. OBVIOUSLY.

Close up of her outfit:
Ye mateys should check out the Bombshell blog post on Wednesday to see how you can win some loot, bounty, something from the Bombshell Coffers!

Lemony Librarian

Hey guys. This is my entry into the Sassy Studio Designs Dare to be Sassy Thursday Challenge. It was a sketch challenge, and I used their Friday Freebie they had yesterday on the Paper Craft Planet. It was called Pin-Up Teacher. However, After I had her colored, all I could thinkg was Librarian. That became the inspiration for my card. I am also entering her in the MarkePop Color Challenge #6 for Yellow.(I also colored her in Yellow because of the CMC Challenge, but it ended last night before I could get her in. SIGH). Oh well.

The paper I used was a DCWV Matstack called Lemon Flower. The charm on the left side is a little notebook charm that I used DCWV A Type of Art matstack to make the inside page inserts. The sentiment I typed and printed out.

The colors used - Y00, 11, 13, 15 for her dress. Greys were C3, 5, 7, 9, Green of her eyes YG61, 63, 67, Reds R14, 17, 39 and her hair was YR21 as the base and then layered E07, 09, 18 over it. Her skin YR000, 00, E11. The bracelet I colored in Yellow and then used a vind Copic multiliner to add some detail.

I really hope you like my card and that you visit again soon.

Kid Card - Flourish style

Ok I am trying really really hard to win some free stamps in a challenge - because the stamps are AWESOME this month over at Flourishes! Seriously - I MUST have them. So here is my next try for their Dear Santa Challenge. :-) The challenge was to make a kids card. Well I made one - at least my daughter said that she thought it was a card for a kid!

After coloring it I found this really pretty shiny green paper. Thought it went really well with the green under the snowglobe.  Once I had cut out the white panels, I thought they needed a bit more so embossed them with snowflakes.

Copics Used - E21, 23, 25, 27. B000, 01, 05, Y02, G21, 24, 28, R24, 27, 29, 39, RV000, 00.
The snow was highlighted with copic white after the entire thing was colored.

I hope you like my card.

And Here is my second card - HAHA... Didn't think I would make it tonight.

Simple card for their Wild and Wonderful Challenge.

See you again soon. :-)

Sea You Soon - Sketch

Hey there everyone! It is sketch time over at Bombshell Stamps and Kathi our fearless leader (She must be fearless to deal with us crazies) has prepared a lovely sketch here for us all to enjoy. My take on the sketch became very dark with pops of color.

I colored Mermaid Treasure up with blues and yellow greens  and then cut her out and layered her on the black paper. I love how it makes her stand out. Now the ribbon is silver - not red or pink. I promise! It is just VERY shiny. I am wearing a dark pnik shirt and apparently it reflected on the picture. SIGH. So the picture looks a little strange. The sentiment is from Homeward Bound.

I think I will do more on black with the Bombshells.

The Bombshells have some FANTABULOUS Inspiration for you over at the Bombshell blog.

The rules for the challenge are :

Any Which Way - or EVERY WHICH WAY?

The Flourishes release week challenge this week was to was to use one of the four sketch orientations "Any Which Way" to create a card. Well, I did a series of Christmas cards using all four. WOOHOO!!!!

This was really fun and I loved the sketch layout, although I think I liked the wide short orientations better. Here are all four of them. The colors used were R35, 46, 59 for the reds, G82, 94, 99 for the greens, Y11, 23, 26, 28 for the golds, and C3,5,7,9 for the blacks.

Thank you for joining and checking out my Christmas cards. I hope you come back again soon, and check out some more posts.

Have a good week.

P squared Challenge - Piece and Punch

Hey there guys! Nice to see you back - or hopefully nice to see some new faces too. I created this card for the Kraftin Kimmie Piece Out challenge.

As the name implies, the challenge was to Piece part of the image you made. As I was contemplating the paper to use, I saw that Basic Grey also had a challenge this week to "Punch It". Well that was providence. I must combine challenges.

I used the Basic Grey Oxford paper for her pants, top, headband and scrunchie. I then used the same two papers to punch some flowers out, and then another Basic Grey in the background.

I colored her in standby skin colors of E000, 00, 11 and R20. Then I layered on her outfit. For shading on the outfit I used the N2 to add some deepness. For her hair I used Y00 as the base, and then E13, 15, 18. Her Ipod, toe betweeney things and washcloth are RV52, 55. For the washcloth I did most of it in the RV52, then I added a teensy tiny bit of the RV55 at the bottle and where her foot is sitting. Then... I went crazy with the colorless blender and dotted and dotted and dotted... to make it have this faded look.  It looks kinda soft and wooshy to me. :-)

OK... Thanks for coming. I have already gotten two of my cards done for Bombshell this month - I am ON A ROLL... So make sure you tune in on Wednesday to CHECK OUT THE DT's work for the Sketch Challenge.   Oh - and you have a little bit of time still to apply to be a Pin-Up for the next term. The designs are really cool and extremely versatile. You should try!!!!

Sassy Studio Designs

Howdy all. It is game day!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOP. Gig 'EM Aggies!!!!!

OK... now I feel better. :-)

I colored this very elegant lady up when I heard that Sassy Studio Designs was having a DT call. Their designs are very cute and well - - uh - - SASSY. :-) And... she was a BLAST to color up.  I loved the layers on her top.

I wanted it to appear as if she is sitting in front of her dresser and mirror. Her outfit was colored up with the V2x series. I found this paper that matched afterwards - my typical modus operandi.... WHEW! Originally I was going to use more white, but the Black flowers and ribbon and pearls just made it pop out so much more.

I had this little black and white cameo charm, that fit perfectly on her bow, so I used that one to give it a little more dimension.  She is popped up from the card with the coolest little black foam tape. I ADORE IT !!!!!

Hope you all have a great day!

See you back soon!!!

Heartfelt Card

Heartfelt Creations card that is.

My hubby was nice enough to go to the CK Convention in Nashville with me a couple of weeks ago. It was much smaller than usual, and that was VERY sad. But Heartfelt Creations had a booth there, and I got this beautiful Tattered Flowers stamp. I colored it up with the dp I used in mind. I used R11, 12, 14, 17, R05 and R39 for the main flowers. I went over it a touch with Y11 in the lighter areas. The leaves were G20, 21, 24, 28 and the centers were Y11, 23, 26. Once done I added some gold Flower soft and a bit of fine gold glitter on the centers. Then I added B91 dots to the stamped image dots around the image. I cruised several sketch compilations and picked one to use. Then I messed it up, so I changed the sketch up... Go figure. :-)

I told my hubby that it reminded me of Christmas, even though it is not a Christmas image, or Christmas paper, or Christmas anything. It must be the allergy drugs roaming insanely through my system.

:-)

Talk to you again soon!!!!

Guest Designer - Samee

Hey there guys. My little one (who is only 4 3/4 inches shorter than me now) decided she wanted to color some... and guess what... she said "coloring is fun". Hello - it just took you 13 years to get that? She has designed two cards for you all today.

The image stamps for both are from Heartfelt Creations. The shading on the horse really impressed me. I thought it was very well done. She volunteers for a Horse Riding Rehab center, so she is really into the horses, and I think that it shows.  The pink card was a surprise for me when I got down this morning. AND she cleaned up after herself. GASP!

Thank you all for stopping by, and I hope you have a great Monday. (And if you want to leave a little love for Samee - I am sure she would appreciate it!!!)

I will have another card up tomorrow.

Just a Teensy Bit Krafty

The lovely ladies over at Kraftin Kimmie stamps have challenged us to get Krafty with them and incorporate Kraft paper into the project. I did... Just a tad. I had great plans to use a lot of Kraft cardstock, but it just didn't look right  once I had the image all colored and ready to go on the card. So I took Cheryl's advice and added a tag to it using the Kraft paper and I love how it turned out.

The  Jukebox was colored up with basic colors:

E23, 25, 27
B00, 01, 02
Y00,02, 04
R00, 02, 05
C1, 3, 5, 7

You can see it better in person, but I added some sparkly on top of the blue and silver. Then I added crystal accents on the blue and the glass parts to give it shine. The flowers were cut from die cuts and then rolled. The sentiment was stamped with versafine and then heat embossed.

Thanks for checking me out. I hope you come back pretty soon because I am being very color-y this weekend and plan on having some more stuff up tomorrow and Monday.
