I am EXHAUSTED.... but I had to try out this Flourishes Release Week noon time challenge. It was front and back. You had to use the same image as background and as the main image. So I chose one of the banners, and made a patterned paper out of it by stamping it in a row then alternating it facing the other way. I did this in light purple ink. When I was done, I stamped it with versafine on another. I mounted it all up and BLECK. So I just started experimenting. I airbrushed a rainbow, and then added the sentiment and added little blingy to the flowers on the main image.

So... not my favorite card. But, given the crazy week... it will have to do. :-)  The fact that I got one done at all... well it is almost a miracle.Actually the airbrushing I am happy with with the exception of the bottom purple... hmmmm... I may have to give this a whirl some other time.

Basic Butterfly

So for this months Bombshell Sketch Kathi gave us a great sketch. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to use the cutting out a border method on the edge and leave some of the underside  of the card showing. 

I kept envisioning the butterfly flying up toward the flowers. or down toward them, and now looking at it, compared to the sketch I realize that the upper flowers should be on the right and the lower on the left. DANGIT!!!!! UGH. I hate it when I do that. SIGH.  I blame the freaking time change. REALLY... It is DST's fault. GRRRRRRR!!!!!!



I cut out the white shape and stamped a butterfly from Butterfly Queen on the middle in black. I stamped the same butterfly in white on black, embossed with white EP, and cut it out I bent up the wings slightly and then layered it on with a rolled up zots line under each wing to make it pop up.

I added black Enamel Accents on the white flowers and around the edge of the scalloped oval.

I have been FLOURISHING

Hey all... I have been coloring up a bunch of Flourishes stamps. Maybe because it is nearing spring and I wanted the florally stuff... maybe because I want to win some rubber stuff. Who knows. Whatever the reason, I have a few cards to share today.

The first card I have is my entry into this weeks Timeless Tuesday challenge. It was an inspiration challenge, and I found it a bit hard because really there was much more orange in the inspiration piece, adn quite honestly, being the Aggie that I am, orange is REALLY hard for me. I mean, the only orange paper I have is if it comes in a pack and I want the OTHER colors. But the image had some really bright yellow, black accents and a white doily so I went from there. The image was colored with copics - Y0000,00,04,08,G02,05,07,09,YG41, 45, YG01, YR02. 07, 09, E31, 33, 35. And the edge airbrushed with B0000 while still in the Nestie.

The second card was made for the Release Week Challenge over at Flourishes. This was another color challenge based on Pinterest inspiration. The colors were the teal and purple I used here. In the inspiration photo there was a touch of yellow, so I made sure I included it. I used Copics (well duh) - BG70, 72, 75, 78, Y32, 35, 38, V20, 22, 25, 28.  I added in the woodgrain with the different shades of BG. I wanted it to look a little worn.

The third card - I made just to make it. I know I used V12, 15, 17 and G12, 14, 16, 18, YG13... other than that I am not really sure. My daughter gave this to a friend of hers for her birthday.

The CPS Cardsketch is BALANCED

Ok, now that I have that out of my system. The sketch this week (#256):

 
Now, I can't just leave well enough alone, so I had to flip the sketch... AH... that made me feel so much better. Because as my mother will tell you I LOVE for things to be symmetrical, and while I am ok with things being heavier on bottom or top, I get kind of TWITCHY when they aren't balanced side to side. HAHAHA. My own little CDO (Obessive Compulsive Disorder in its proper Alphabetical order).

I chose to use Lotus Garden to create this card. The paper is Basic Grey and worked out SO very well with it. And yes, as usual I chose the paper AFTER I colored my images. LOL.

The fish are colored with Y1x and 2x and YR1x markers. The water is colored with B1x Copics, and was done using the airbrush. Once I was done with the airbrushing I used modpodge dimensional lacquer on it to give the water shininess.

Country Roads - Take me Home

Hello all. It has been a while sicne I have participated in a Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. I have so many stamps, and I love them. This weeks challenge is Country Comfort. Create anything inspired by country living…. a farm-theme, gardening, country patterns (calico, gingham, plaid), quilts, wildflowers… whatever you interpret as country comfort!

I have had the Strawberries set for a long time and colored up some of it, but not the main image. When I think of this image, I think of my Granny's Strawberry Preservers in the old plastic butter containers. YUM YUM. Have no clue how to make them... probably wouldn't have the patience either.

The Copic Colors I used are R21, 22, 24, 27, 37 and YG00 for the strawberries themselves. The flowers are YG0000, 00, 01 for the centers and the petals are a touch of B0000. The background was B000 and B0000. The leaves G20, 21, 24, 28.  Once I was done I used a white Reminisce pen to very lightly touch the seeds.

LEAP-ing Lasso - it's a blog hop Batman!!

OMG it has been TWO WEEKS since I have posted. ACK. I do have a good excuse. We had visitors from another country at work for two weeks and I was crazy busy not only during the days but also taking them out to eat almost every night. On the plus side I had a LOT of great food that was paid for by Work. WHOOP!

But that is not what we are here for! It is that time again... Time for the BOMBSHELL BLOG HOP. This time Alison, Our Blog QUEEN and massively creative hostess has challenged us to LEAP INTO ACTION. Yes... it is LEAP DAY!!! She wants our Bombshells to be heroes. There are all types of heroes. Everyday heroes, action heroes, quiet heroes... the sky is the limit. You should have arrived from Glittery Katie's AMAZING blog. If not, head on back to the Bombshell Blog to make sure you get all the Leapy goodness in.

Well my heroine leaps into action all the time.  With her invisible plane, and her lasso of truth, she is truly a Wonder Woman.

I cannot think of Wonder Woman without thinking of Lynda Carter's version.  We watched this religiously growing up - - my Dad really, REALLY liked Wonder Woman. I Wonder why??? HAHA.

To get the outfit on her, I took Bombshell Angel and masked out a bit of her hair and the flower in her hair to allow me to put the headpiece on, and a little bit of her shoes so I could draw the boots. I drew on the boots, headpiece, and armbands. Then I added the details of her outfit and a little bit more hair, cuz Wonder Woman back then had the Texas Big Hair thing going on! The background is simple cardstock that I cut out in the design, with punched stars. I have to admit my Absolute favorite part of the whole card is her mini lasso. HEE HEE.

Love - Hot Chocolate

Hey there all you people out there in blogland. Today I am here with my card for the Bombshell Monthly Challenge.

Glittery Katie is stepping in with our challenge this month. What goes through your mind when you think of love, maybe cherubs, chocolates music and whispering sweet nothings to your honey bun or perhaps something a little darker....broken hearts, tears and thoughts of sweet, sweet revenge

So here's my Valentine challenge to you this month, I want to see what's in your hearts the good AND the bad.
If you like sweet nothings- great but lets see a little bit of your dark side too!!!
If you like the dark side of love then sweeten it a little !
So go where your imagination takes you and lets see the YING and YANG of lurve!

So - I was thinking about this while I was watching Alton Brown's last show which was Dark Chocolate, and I thought Valentines day - Chocolate boxes.

Because I was a BAD BOMBSHELL and missed Kathi's Sketch Challenge post earlier this month I decided to combine the challenges. So for the  Chocolates I used Sacred Heart Art and stamped Hearts on squares of different shades of brown paper with different colored inks. I then used black lace and created a grid for the candy squares to lay in. This was all on the inside of the card. Once done, I folded the card over the top and figured out where to cut the opening for the box (all withing Kathi's sketch). I cut out the opening, and then had the lacey square over the top. I then used a sentiment from the Rose's Portrait set to complete the Valentines Chocolate Box.
