EEEEEEEEEEkkkkkk - SCACD Blog Hop

This is my first post with the SCACD design team. Can I say I am UBER excited to get to work with these stamps and all of the other products that Susana has in her store!!!!! Not to mention the super ladies that are creating for the team.

And to start this out right, I got to work with the new release! Yes - that is right! Today Susana Loves Stamps is releasing another new round of these unique, fresh and edgy rubber stamps due to the response we got to the premier MechAnimals stamps.  Along with the new MechAnimals there are some fabulous new Far East and floral inspired rubber stamps being released today as well.

You should have arrived from Alex's blog. If not, and you wandered into this hop by happy accident, then you should go start out with Alex!!!!

I have two projects to share with you today. The first is using the MechAnimals #2 Stamp Incandescent Light

Isn't Incandescent Light to die for!!!!??? I sang songs from Finding Nemo the entire time I colored it. Additionally, I used the SCACD  Contempo Compass Statement Corner Die, but instead of using them in the corner I decided to place them in a different position (who said corner dies are only for the corners). It really brings out the Nautical in the image!

Colors Used: C1, C3, C5, E04, Y11, 21, 23, 26 for all the metal. E21, 23, 25 for the brown, YG21, 23, 25, 17 for the green scales. Then B21, 23, 24 for the blue background. Once done, I added silver spikes on his back and then stardust for the teeth, and a silver, and gold and copper for the different rivets, and screws.

The second image made me SQUEEEEL. Literally. There was a happy dance when I saw it - See I LOVE dragons! This next image is Creative Spark from Eastern Dreams and TRULY got my creative spark going.

The dragon is absolutely GORGEOUS. And honestly after coloring her (She is too pretty to be a he), I didn't want anything taking any of her glory, so I went with a simple white on white theme - although with some dimension added. The colors were BG10, 11, 13, 15, B00, 12, 16, 18 and then stardust glitter was added all over the place to make her sparkle and shine.

I then used the fun sentiment inside and the same colors to embellish it.

Your next stop on your blog journey is Pat St. Martin.

For the US customers: You can get these awesome stamps and dies here:

Inspirational Trip

Hey there! Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the C.R.A.F.T challenge. This challenge is to create something inspired by a book. So... I was recently in Oxford England. And while I was there I learned a bit about some of the famous inhabitants. One of the inhabitants was the Reverend Dodgson - who was a math professor at Christ Church College, and also wrote Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Apparently, Alice was one of the young daughter's of the Dean, and Reverend Dodgson told the initial story to entertain her and her sisters on a river trip. There is even a store called Alice's Shop in Oxford, where I bought the tape that I used for the card below.
I colored Belle Pinup as Alice, and then cut her out as if she was looking in a mirror. I used another Nestie (Lacy Ovals) for the frame, and then a Ornate Doorplate with Knob Die by SCACD for the handle.

As soon as I heard the theme, I knew that I had to use this theme. Now I hope you will jump on over to the C.R.A.F.T. challenge and give it a whirl!!!!!

Have a great weekend - I know I will - going to pick up our new puppy!

It's a Speed Hop!

Time again for the Hump Day Hop for Bombshell Stamps. This months theme is Speed Demons: Masters of Transportation. I have used the Harley Bikes set to create this masculine card:

The colors were very simple - C1, C3 and a silver pen , R24, 27, 29 for the red, and E23, 27, 29 for the seat.

OK, so I hope you enjoyed this simple card, and make sure you stop off at the other ladies blogs to see what they have in store for you.

Color challenge

HOWDY! I am sitting here enjoying the A&M game and finishing up my card for the 613 Avenue Create challenge that Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring this week.  This one was for us to choose a color from three different sets. I chose Grey, Green and Purple and thought that the new release mummy was a perfect choice for this.

Once I had her colored, I decided I did not want to try the insane attempt at fussy cutting around all of the drooping wrappings. I am a little crazy, but not certifiable. So I colored around the image with W6, and then cut it close to the image. This is new paper from Recollections that I got today (I am such a paper whore). Once it was on the paper. I decided that it needed something more, So I took a square lacey nestie, and then cut it in quarters and put them in the corners. Added the roses and the bling.

I used the following colors for my mummy girl.

Skin -YG61, 63, 67
Hair - V20,22, 25, 28
Wrappings - N0,2,4

So I hope you take a look at the challenge over at 613 Avenue Create, and show off what you can do.

Sassy September Halloween Hop!

It is NEW RELEASE DAY at Sassy Studio Designs. WHOOT WHOOT. And the images this month are serious characters! And since it is so close to Halloween we did an anything goes with a Halloween twist.  I will be honest - when I saw this image I squealed. It is so perfect for some super uber geeky peeps in my life. Sadly I have been travelling and so I was limited on time. But I pulled out my colored pencils on my way back from England and got her colored.

I have made her into a magnet. She is cut out and placed onto a black clothespin with a magnet on the back. She can be used to hold all sorts of fun stuff on the fridge, or filing cabinet.

So here is the hop list. I am at the end, but if you somehow got here without seeing the entire thing, you should go back and check it out. And remember - prizes will be chosen for comments left on blogs. So maybe you could win one of these images! Winners will be announced on the 25th.

I'm a Guest

Designer that is! I am doing a guest stint this month for Chromatic Craze challenge. This challenge is all about COLOR. Cards, ATC's, Artwork of different types, everything is welcome, just as long as you stick to the color scheme.   Easy as that!

Here is the color scheme for this months challenge:

And here is what I have done with those colors.

I tried to get all the different shades in there.

Isn't she just too sweet? This image is from Saturated Canary, and I just love coloring her hair. It is so much fun, and also a challenge.  I used the following colors:

Hair - Y0000, 000,00, 02,04
Pants - B32, 34, 37, 39
Shirt and bows - R32, 35, 37
White on her shoes - C1, 3

Now, I hope that you all join in on this Chromatic Craze Challenge and show off your use of COLOR!

Arghhh Matey!

Today is Talk like a Pirate Day - and you know how we over at Bombshell Like to honor all of our whacked out holidays.

Bombshell has lots of stamps that work well for this theme, but I chose to go with these two sets. Homeward Bound and Mermaid Treasure. The quote is one I printed off and was Captain Jack Sparrow talking to Will in the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl.

I went with a little different colors for this one. I was trying for Sunset. I used so many colors on this it is hard to list them all. But the Browns are E4x, and then I used RV0000,00, YR0000 , VV0000, Y0000, Y00, BV0000, 000, 00, 01, B60, and a smattering of brighter colors for the jewels.

I hope all of you have a bloody great day and find your treasure.

Undercover Angel

Midnight Fantasy (when I was little I thought it was Midnight Tennessee. :-)  )

It is sketchy time over at Bombshell stamps, and Kathi provided a lovely sketch for inspiration.  My take on it was a little wider than her sketch (lol) but... I love how it turned out.

I used the JuniperBerry pad from DCWV, and two of the same pages from it. The main image is  Bombshell Angel, and the wings are from Sacred Heart stamp set. The sentiment is from  - - - You got it - - - the  All My Heart stamp set. She is colored with my go to for pale skin YR000,00, E11 with R20 for a bit of blush. Her Hair is Y11, 21, 26, 28. But the fun part was her outfit and wings. Her outfit is B32, 34, 37, 39 and her wings have a little of those colors on the edges, and then BG000,10 and 11.

Once I was done I cut it all out and then edged it with black. However, that was where my mistakes came in. If you are edging with Copics, sometimes the ink will come off on you hand and then you accidentally get some on other spots. This is why she has two bracelets and a necklace on - to cover it up. Then on the wings (on one) I hit it on the edge with black and it went on the already colored image. This is why I used the Blender to streak the black to make it appear grey in the upper area, and so I repeated my mistake on the other wing.  I finally added a bit of sparkly to the wings.

OK.. I hope you all join us in our challenges this month for a chance to win some new stamps and or images. :-)

Ciao Y'all.

Howdy Howdy!!!!

It has been a great weekend. We won our game (despite having almost all of the experienced Defensive line pretty much suspended for two games).  We have been just hanging out here at the casa, and I have been crafting and getting ready for my trip to Oxford for work... although I haven't been planning the work part - just the fun part.

It is time for Ms. September's pin-up challenge at Bombshell Stamps. Ms. September is Jenn, and she is one talented lady. She has challenged us to make a card with LOTS of layers. I found this sketch and at one part there are 8 layers under the bow. :-) I was in a frilly soft mood and went for these gorgeous Pink Paislee London Market papers. For this one I was being weird for me and I made the entire card without having an image in mind. I just knew where I would place it. So once I was done I had to figure out the colors. (See below)... Once the colors were chosen I found my image. Yes... Backwards backwards backwards. I thought this image called out for Peek a Boo Geisha. Isn't she gorgeous. I hope all of you peeps try out our challenges this month. You get a chance to win free rubber / digis... and if you don't have one, just sign up for the Newsletter, and you can get a free digi stamp to play with and use for the challenges.

Ok... Now I am heading off to play with my markers some more. See you all again soon!

Colors Used:
R11, 12, E02, 04, 07
E50, 51, 53 57
G00000,000,00
BG32, 34
YG91, 93, 61, 63, 67

Buttons and Bows - How can it be scary?

Sassy Studio Designs is at it again - Sponsoring another challenge. This week the challenge is at Artistic Inspirations, and they have challenged us to incorporated buttons into the project. I decided to use an image I haven't colored up. In honor of my husband. HEE HEE

I have lost my BowEasy - so I decided to get a Bowdabra... And well... Uh... not exactly what I was expecting, but I do like this bow. Only I didn't have the bow wire... so I used string... not sure if that made a difference or not.

I colored Frankie with the following colors:

W4, 6, 7, 9 for his suit. The lapels and pockets and shoes are C5, 7, 9. His shirt is a little stylin with the BV20, 23, 28... and he is rocking the green glow with YG61, 63, 67. The paper is Recollections, and the buttons are various purple and grey that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I thing next time I might print him a tad bigger.  But all in all - he makes me smile - just like my hubby. :-D

See you again soon!
